Problem with Zip 100 in Puppy 109
I agree with Glenn Beck. Elmo is definately the antichrist.
Using the parallel port in Linux for purposes not originally intended has become a subject in its own right. There are websites devoted to the subject. Depending on your level of SW capability, best advice is to give up and get an IDE Zip drive. I'm waiting on scsi activation to get my scsi Zip functioning. However, my 'success' with Puppy booted from an LS120 suggests that these high capacity drives are a waste of time due to their appalling access times.

I don't give up that easy. I just found a bunch of old zip disks and I wanna put them to use. They're pretty much my only means of moving any sort of data from my computer to my mom's and vise versa since I haven't bought the stuff for my network yet.Depending on your level of SW capability, best advice is to give up and get an IDE Zip drive.

http://www.puppyos.com/test/all-modules ... 6.7.tar.gz
Extract somewhere
run Puppysearch, select the folder where you extracted, filename:ppa , all other fields empty.
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=5621
result:
all-modules/kernel/drivers/scsi/ppa.ko
Copy it to
/lib/modules/2.6.16.7/kernel/drivers/scsi/ppa.ko
Do not copy the symlink shown by the search in Rox, you must first right-click it -> show target to get the real file
Then run
depmod
modprobe ppa
