Here is my frugal install to ntfs hdd for grub4dos
Code:
Code: Select all
title SliTaz cooking
kernel (hd0,2)/slitaz3boot/bzImage rw root=/dev/null slitaz vga=771 nosmp acpi=off
initrd (hd0,2)/slitaz3boot/rootfs.gz
Code: Select all
title SliTaz cooking
kernel (hd0,2)/slitaz3boot/bzImage rw root=/dev/null slitaz vga=771 nosmp acpi=off
initrd (hd0,2)/slitaz3boot/rootfs.gz
Yes but if there where no Puppy anywhere to dl or even thought of?I liked Slitaz but have no use for it.
Edit I am in slitaz now and will llok for what you told me there.save the rootfs.gz when you logout. previous rootfs will be saved with time/date and if you want to boot with the last version, put "previous" on the bootcode.
nooby wrote:tikbalang thanks. How does one do this
save the rootfs.gz when you logout. previous rootfs will be saved with time/date and if you want to boot with the last version, put "previous" on the bootcode.
Code: Select all
title SlitazX
find --set-root --ignore-floppies /slitaz/slitazx.lst
kernel /boot/bzimage rw root=/dev/null home=4039-E1EC lang=en_US kmap=us vga=normal screen=1024x768x24
initrd /boot/rootfs.gz
i rarely use the taz tools to manage slitaz. the package manager and control box can do most of the maintenance work. it's right next to the clock on the task tray.nooby wrote:
root@slitaz:~# tazpkg recharge
use "blkid" at the terminal to get the UUID value for your partition.nooby wrote:oops I am a poor reader of text.
this is what is missing home=
when saving rootfs, old rootfs.gz becomes "previous.gz", "<date>.gz". use "previous" bootcode only if you want to revert back to old settings.nooby wrote: but what about the thing you wrote about "previous"
Should one write the word previous on the kernel line. You don't have it as I can see
that is my own configfile.nooby wrote: ooops again. This part makes me wonder
find --set-root --ignore-floppies /slitaz/slitazx.lst
the ending slitazx.lst does that point to what? is there such a file in isolinux maybe. What exactly does that one do?
Code: Select all
title SliTaz cooking " TYPE="ntfs"
kernel (hd0,2)/slitaz3boot/bzImage rw root=/dev/null slitaz persistent home="xxxxxxx" TYPE="ntfs" vga=771 nosmp
