What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

SCSI hard disk not recognizing in Lucid 5.2.8

#1 Post by DukeDomo »

Hello to everyone.

Being a just novice Puppy Linux user I need help with the following :
Tried out Slacko, Wary and Lucid and only Wary 5.2.2 recognizes my SCSI hdd.
model is SEAGATE ST336607LW as show in HWinfo run from Wary. How do i make Lucid recognize it? as i would like to make a Frugal install of Lucid on one of the partitions.

You will need the scsi version of the iso.
I know there is a Slacko version, not sure about Lucid.

Even though Slacko-531-SCSI-Main has SCSI in its name, it does not contain the drivers.
Try downloading the PAE version and you should be set.
It worked for me in recognizing a SCSI 250meg Zip drive.

Also, 01micko is aware of that and plans to rectify it.
