slacko not finding wireless mouse and keyboard

Hi,
I'm trying slacko for the first time.When I boot up it doesn't find my wireless mouse keyboard combo.I have to unplug the usb transceiver and put it back in after booting for slacko to discover it.Is there a way to get it to find the wireless device automatically as other puppy linux versions I've tried do?
