Thanks. I'll check this out when I get back home tomorrow.antiloquax wrote:@Jemimah
Re-built pet that installs to /usr
Python 3.1.4
Regarding Scratch:
I've just booted into Saluki14 with pfix=ram.
It might be okay to ignore the libpulse message - I changed the plugins entry to ALSA in the shell-script.
I've remade the pet with the original name and it now uninstalls correctly.
It does seem to be working (cat meows when asked to!)
I'll try to get the libv4 thing working as soon as I can

Thanks Geoffry. Natch I tried that, but it crashes the desktop to try adding another panel. Add the second panel, all goes well. Try to move it, and desktop crashes. Re-boot without moving panel, and new panel does not survive re-boot. Tested on two different machines.

sage with your own words. 2 days ago you needed help with pfix=nox, today it's that I failed in my research of you and you imply your a code writer now.Sage wrote:Ha! Ha! Ha!you are not a coder
This joker can neither read nor research. I know my limitations, but, evidently, he does not.
Oh, can't write a decent line of english(sic) without resorting to txt spk, either. Rather proves my oft repeated observations about transAtlantic education....
Back to the plot: still experiencing display issues with Saluki, even on most modern kit.
with your own words whining, slander, bigotry.

I'm having no problem with it, I tried it with three extra panels and all survived a reboot, removed them and no crashes, strange that you get the same result on two machines, you may have a corrupted copy of Saluki.DaveS wrote:Thanks Geoffry. No, tried it with 13 and 14 with same result which means I must have installed something which conflicts. Wbar is only thing I can think of but removing it made no difference. Will try again with a vanilla save file. Thanks for he input.Geoffrey wrote:I'm having no problem with it, I tried it with three extra panels and all survived a reboot, removed them and no crashes, strange that you get the same result on two machines, you may have a corrupted copy of Saluki.DaveS wrote:Thanks Geoffry. I came across a ref in mageia for their xfce4, that there is a weather-plugin around that can be set as your background with updates at selected intervals.
May be an interesting idea for someone to follow up with the xfce4 group?
Wonder what resources it would chew up though.

First reboot hung at log in. New reboot went fine.
The drive handler opens wider than the screen.
Can the information be close together instead of far apart,
its hard for me to keep my eye on one line for a long ways.
Tried to install Rox because I did not find it in the control
panel. Puppy package manager said it was already installed.
I used pfind to find it. Unfortunatly, it would not run,
permission was denied.
I enlabled the drive icons for the desktop. After reboot,
they do not show. I started the program again and
it asked me if I wanted to disable it, so program was
running, but not working.
Midoci does not allow me to use the spell check function at this forum

Acer E525 Emachine laptop loses B43 wireless with Saluki 0.14, works fine with 0.13, both clean installs to usb.
I found that by adding acpi_osi=Linux to the syslinux.cfg allowed the screen backlight to function, the function key and brightness up also need to be pressed to display a image after every boot,
the brightness UP, DOWN are reversed, this seems to be a common theme with Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset and Linux, not just Saluki.
Pete22,
I found that the text in Midori with the red squiggly~~~~~~line under it needs to be highlighted with the mouse first before the right click menu displays replacement words.

Geoffrey. Could you track with dmesg the wireless loading rows. There should be errors of driver loading or firmware loading or the right firmware is not found.Acer E525 Emachine laptop loses B43 wireless with Saluki 0.14
Post all those rows concerning wireless in dmesg. There arent too many of them.
The Firefox-11.0.pet from http://www.smokey01.com/Tman/apps/firefox/ is running well for me in Saluki for me so far. (works in Exprimo too, Pemasu..but I know you like to add your own version). This version feels a bit faster than previous Firefox versions
DaveS, thanks for the fontfix pet. It makes fonts in firefox much nicer.

Here are the two dmesg print outs, one before I created a save file and one after, they are the complete list as I didn't know which may be relevant.
there is also listed the acpi_osi=Linux comand as it appears there is a bug in the firmware for the video with Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset.
if you see the driver in the after save, that's because I manually loaded it in a attempt to get it to work

first all the scrollable windows in my opera ( opera-11.62-1332.i386.linux with current latest flashplayer) browser tabs auto scrolled themselves to the bottom of the page and stubbornly refused to scroll up again, closed browser. restarted browser. still happening close browser again. the non working desktop link to opera is flickering by itself.
try to restart computer, and all menu entries are highlighting themselves, going at speed from top to bottom and then start at the top and highlight again in rotation down to the bottom.
try to click when it is highlighting shutdown but fail to get it to initiate shutdown. hard poweroff. reboot and everything is back to normal. only happened once. all opera tabs were at news.com.au strange behavior started at the wikileaks oz senate bid page.
