Took the quick and easy route first, manual upgrade of the frugal install from 5.X.3.2.9 to 5.X.3.2.11.Other than needing to reset some desktop stuff.... icons and wallpaper ..... everything appears to have survived and is still working.
Doing some testing on the new Wary then I intend to delete the savefile and try a fresh install. Looks good so far.

5.X.3.2.11
Hi pemasu,
Thanks for the new kernel.
Unfortunately wireless network does not work on my laptop and I am unable to generate diagnostics data with Frisbee because it is grayed out and will not accept input. Also for some reason, radky's System Information would not generate any data.
Cheers,
Jim

Re: 5.X.3.2.11
Jim, PupSysInfo is working OK here. Is it possible your download of 5.X.3.2.11 is corrupt?Jim1911 wrote: for some reason, radky's System Information would not generate any data.
Pemasu, it seems the /usr/local/jwmconfig2/panel-buttons executable in 5.X.3.2.11 is 01micko's version 0.1 rather than his updated 0.2.

Jim1911. Your wireless is supported by new iwlwifi.ko and I hope I did change the firmware folder for it.
Iwlagn.ko has been deprecated and you cant find it anymore with this kernel. But did I include right firmware folder, hmm..I need to check.
James C...if you sroll down that error box...You will find suggestion what to do with missing module. Gtk-youtube-viewer works for me so I cant check what module is the one it complains.
If there comes more weird problems....after checking the md5sum of the download. I suspect that my build is not sane. I have now and then the woof corrupt and then the only way to create sane build is to start from scratch...download new fossil content.

It's not a big deal to me but naturally I followed the error message and tried to load the module.pemasu wrote: James C...if you sroll down that error box...You will find suggestion what to do with missing module. Gtk-youtube-viewer works for me so I cant check what module is the one it complains.

Because I happened to do the download on my Windows 7 box...... so that's where the iso was.smokey01 wrote:James C, how come you don't use md5sum? It's a native Linux CRC checker the same as the Windows one you used above.
I just download usually on whichever computer I happen to be using at the time, just happened to be on the 7 box.
I only mentioned in case you weren't aware of md5sum.James C wrote:Because I happened to do the download on my Windows 7 box...... so that's where the iso was.smokey01 wrote:James C, how come you don't use md5sum? It's a native Linux CRC checker the same as the Windows one you used above.

Hi pemasu,
Radky was correct, I had a bad iso download. I downloaded new iso and upgraded an old save file. Everything appears to be working fine. Posting from it on Laptop with 8-core processor now.
It's also working great on two desktop computers, one with 2-core processor, one with 8-core processor.
Cheers,
Jim

At SnowPuppy and IcePuppy time I used to announce that check the md5sum of the big download and especially when you download iso. I have received now several times bug reports which were due to bad download.
I think I start to remind people now on about md5sum check again.
Thank you Jim1911. I already checked the iwlwifi firmware content and to be sure created a pet which contains the iwlwifi firmwares. It looks like I dont have to upload it. Lol.

Guess my hardware is just too old for Exprimo.
Exprimo 5.X.3.2.11 live pfix=ram. Sound and internet working but booted to a black screen with "monitor out of range" message.Ctrl/alt/bkspc to xorgwizard to get desired 1366x768.
Youtube-viewer still a no go.

James C. I noticed that Dpup seems to use different gtkdialog-splash script than woof provides. Some pet seems to overwrite the default version. I will hunt down that pet.
Meanwhile....Install the attached pet. It will install the woof version of gtkdialog-splash over the existing one. Lets see if gtkdialog-splash behaves for you then with flashdownloader ie getflash script.
