How to add shortcut to a folder to Icewm quicklaunch button

#1 Post by john262 »

I'm back with my next question. :-)

I figured out how to add and delete shortcuts to programs from the quicklaunch button that sits on the Icewm toolbar. But I can't figure out how to add a shortcut to a folder to quicklaunch.

Is there some way to edit the toolbar file in the ,Icewm directory to do that? Or failing that if I could put a shortcut to a folder on the toolbar itself.

Thank you.

John- you can use xbindkeys to do your  dirtywork!

But.. it's been awhile since I've been on an Icewm dt..

I'm sure there's a method that better suits your request..

I just can't remember offhand...

Thanks. Under Action do I just type the path to the folder I want to point to? I tried that and it doesn't seem to work. I must be doing something wrong.

Spec the key like this for example: control+shift + f << watch your spacing..

Your "action" like this: icewm /directory-of-choice

Or if the file manager's ROX: rox /dir-of-choice

We good?

Whoops!

Extract this to /root/Startup >> rt-clk >> permissions >> yes, make executable.

Now ctrl+alt+backspace >> type: xwin << unless she auto's the dt..

Semme, you always seem ready to hep a newbie like me. Thanks a lot.

By the way, in case anyone is interested, I also figured out how to add a folder to the Icewm quicklaunch menu.

If you want to add the downloads folder to the quicklaunch menu, open the toolbar file in the.icewm folder and add this:

prog "Downloads" "put the path to the icon of your choice here" rox /root/Downloads
