Yes, to build it in to Woof you would need a pet. The packages from precise could be made into a pet. Someone would need to do a bit of work there but I could explain the basics, and so can quite a few other people--PPM will do l lot of the work by downloading the packages with dependencies.I do thank you for any help that you will bring to this. I would like to try the LXDE just not sure on how it would be done. Would probably need a pet or sfs right for woof build?
Darn, The first attempt to install gvfs to enable the Help in Abiword did not work as it did in Lucid.
Making pets for Precise from Ubuntu repo. After Examine Dependencies, PPM will offer to download all of the packages. After downloading they will all be in /root--you can move them into their own folder along with loop-undeb.sh and then open a terminal in that folder and run ./loop-undeb.sh which will unpack the packages into the same set of /usr, /lib, etc., folders. You can then put those into their own folder and use dir2pet to make that into a pet. 01micko has a script that does some more of this automatically I think. This is not as easy as it was in Lucid because Ubuntu has started putting libs in /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/ instead of /usr/lib so maybe the path should be modified or else the libraries have to be moved in making the pet.
loop-undeb.sh
Code: Select all
for file in *
do
undeb $file
