My HPLIP packages have always had this problem - you need to restart the device after a scan session before it will print again. It has to do with USB detection and may be specific to the HP model.Henry wrote:What was confusing me was the need to reboot the printer after rebooting the computer or when printing after scanning or vice versa. My previous HP 4480 did not have this characteristic.
I wonder if lluamco's hplip-lite package avoids this situation.
Re CUPS 1.4.4 - there may be good reasons for upgrading if you are installing Open/Libre Office. Does it also require the SDL-1.2.14-w5c package?
