Welcome Linux_Guy. You're launching it from where and on which Pup?

Thanks. Slacko 5.3.3. This happens from wbar or from a terminal session or when using rox (click on urxvt in /usr/bin). This is happening when launching rxvt also.

In /root (clk the eye in ROX to reveal hidden files) you'll have a .wbar. Post it's contents..

I'll have to check but- are you sure you're NOT on MacPup?

I have spent a few hours looking for this and finally found it in /etc/profile.local. Cleared it and now all is well again. Thanks for helping.

Strange though as I did a contents search for "swapon" in all files and this didn't come up as a result.

My bad- NOT MacPup related. The names had me wondering without having peeked- /usr/share/wbar.

I agree though- ODD! Hard to imagine, considering.. I've never come across such.. an oddity. Bizarre!

Do you have the swapfile manager installed? For some reason this tool puts the swapon and sysctl (to set swapiness) commands into the /etc/profile.local file.

Yes, I do. Thanks. I was thinking that it was added somehow when checking that swapfile manager made the swapfile.
