I don’t have a tablet, but I do have an android. I installed an app called ‘FTP Server’ on my android (it’s free from the app-market or whatever they call it nowdays). From there I can open ‘gFTP ftp client’ in Saluki from the internet sub-menu, and, after connecting to the wi-fi on the android, I click ‘Start’ from the ‘FTP Server’ app. This gives me an FTP URL. I type that URL into the ‘Host’ entry box in gFTP and click the far left button to connect. I can then transfer files to and from my ‘droid and ‘puter. You can even add a bookmark in gFTP to automate the process for future sessions.
If you don't have an android OS on the tablet, you should be able to duplicate this by adding a FTP server app.
Oh dear Lord Elroy, I never thanked you for this. Sincere thanks, works like a charm.

can't eject flash drive
Geoffrey,
In Saluki 23 I have the problem of not being able to eject a flash drive. A while back, you posted a solution on the Saluki-linux forum. I'd like to apply the fix to another computer, but I can't find it now. Would you mind reposting it here? Thanks.

PAE 3.6.5 kernel
I've compiled a PAE 3.6.5 kernel for carolina that should work on saluki. If anyone is interested in trying it out you can download it here - linux_kernel-3.6.5-lina-pae.pet. The headers.pet and source.sfs are in the carolina repo if you want them.

Has anyone fixed the Openshot pet in the repository yet? I was fiddling around with it the other and discovered it kept crashing when trying to play media files because of the MLT and FFMPEG in the repo. So I packaged them together in the following pet.
Just install it instead of the MLT and FFMPEG pet in the repo and install the other dependencies as normal.
Seems to fix Openshot. I've only tested it in 019 so if someone would test it in the newer versions, that would be good .MLT will complain of missing QT files, but it's fine, Openshot doesn't use them. (MLT is compiled like that for Kdenlive compatibility.)

gtkdialog version 0.8.3 r464M (C) 2003-2007 Laszlo Pere, 2011-2012 Thunor
Built with additional support for: Glade, VTE.
I don't think the examples have changed in the latest update from the previous one.
Here is the gtkdialog binary, I've named it gtkdialog4 as that's what it called in Saluki.

Since I've been writing about this problem for quite a while, I finally tested this.Geoffrey wrote:http://saluki-linux.com/Forum/viewtopic ... 1679#p1679Wognath wrote:Geoffrey,

It works, but it's a little awkward. Works fine from the Pmount, but doesn't always unmount using the file manager. Still cool that it doesn't go crazy like before.

You could try the latest version http://smokey01.com/carolina/pet_packag ... 0.1.10.pet , I've had no problems with mounting or unmounting usb drives, all appears to work fine from the file manager, the only time I've had a problem with unmounting is that I had neglected to close a file that's in use.
