(SOLVED) Pupplet without all the additional software?
(SOLVED) Pupplet without all the additional software?
I've been using Puppy Linux since 2007 / 2008. Loved it, customized it to suit my needs, but I couldn't join the forums (I was nine years old). I am now thirteen, so I have joined the forums. I'm looking at Puppy now, and I like it. However, I have took the new Precise Puppy 5.4 for a test drive, liked it, but didn't want all the extra stuff. Is there a ISO image with Puppy Linux, except with out all the fancy-scmancy stuff (i.e. only JWM, Xorg / Xvesa, Getpet / Puppy Package Manager, Network Setup, Rox-Filer, and Archiver)?

You could try the NOP puppies, Browser linux, Wary Tiny, Wary small.... the great thing about Puppy Linux is that there's something for everyone..

Over time there have been many interesting pup(let)s - often I'll pop a disc in of one like turbo or zenfunk's nifty PULP (nice to see vintage gtk and a pup that was designed to offer some 'lighter' choices).Bligh wrote:There is no one best Puppy.
You might want to be a tad careful with remove-builtins - there's the possibility of removing parts that may be vital to other stuff. Always backup and/or leave yourself an out if things go not-so-well
oya .. Welcome!
Here are a few, but based on older versions of Puppy.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
