Rather annoyingly, whenever certain changes are being made to the system, the buddy list keeps popping up (having previously been confined to tray). Is this a side-effect of the system reloading the WM or something?
Anyone else had this happen to them, and/or know how to stop it, please?
Pidgin Buddy List Keeps Popping Up
what puppy are you using and what wm?
as this used to happen to me all the time in 'openbox' wm, but was ok in jwm.

Lucid, Openbox
Yeah, I'm coming to the conclusion that the hotch-potch of WMs bundled on Lucid is creating all kinds of stupid anomalies. By making OpenBox default, for example, I'm getting Pinboard error messages and having my panel and desktop icons sometimes disappear, and sometimes others reappear in its place.
I'm not a happy user right now. Wish I could just find a system that didn't need messing around with, but was small and persistent on a USB.
None of the currently available Pups seem to be hassle free and stable. I was told that Lucid is the most stable, but it seems to be the most problematic, tbh,
