Request for Stepmania Dance simulation program dotpup

Stepmania is a Dance Dance Revolution simulation program that I'm rather fond of. Seeing as I have dial-up, I haven't had time to download the binary to see if it would work in Puppy. Could someone try it or compile it as dotpup for me? The site has the binary and source for download. Here's the link:

Yep, works for me! Though I don't know how connecting dance pads with linux will go.

I downloaded it, extracted it, then tried to run it. Maybe I didn't do it right though. I attached a screenshot anyway.

I remember that when I had trouble with Java before, someone said to download the binary then use 'bash (whatever the filename was went here)' to install it. I figured that the same principle would apply. I dunno though, Linux seems to be just a learning process for me.

I'm running 2.10 with DRI, opengl, and SDL installed. Your probably missing opengl and/or SDL.

Make it executable, and run it:
chmod 755 stepmania
./stepmania

The comand
bash stepmania would only work, if stepmania were a shell-script.

Works for me.

it only installs the game but no songs were included.

download the songs you want to install

i just renamed the song file's ".smzip" extension to ".zip" and install as alien package to "Stepmania-3.9/Song/" folder.


i hope dance pads works with puppy.
