Audio and video not playing (flash?)
Audio and video not playing (flash?)
this is what I am getting in the slot where the audio player controls should be-
I am also getting this for videos. Youtube videos are playing fine, however
I'm wondering if it's got something to do with my flash - it's v11.2 and the latest version is at 11.7, although for linux it cannot be updated beyond v11.2...maybe it's too outdated to play the video and audio on this particular site?
Oh, and I'm running firefox 21 by the way! on luci-5.2.9

I think it is unlikely that the problem is arising because Flash 11.2 is too old. As you say, 11.2 is the latest version on Linux anyway.
There is one thing you could try as an experiment I suppose. Google Chrome browser has a Pepper Flash plugin which is version 11.7 and it does seem to work in Linux if you configure with the right switch eg:-
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 21&start=9
I wonder if that one will install and run in the Puppy you are using.
NOTE:- Always back up your system first before installing anything experimental OR boot with pfix=ram and install the .pet and try to play the videos from the required website.

If you have any add-ons, state which now. Go to your site and log in.
With your video page up, hit 'tools' >> page info >> media.
Is there an application/x-silverlight-* 'object' under type?
You've got which Flash version there- FULL number?
As a final option >> yes, 'dump' your cache.

DoNotTrackMe, priv3, noscript, proxtube, greasemonkey.Semme wrote:If you have any add-ons, state which now. Go to your site and log in.

There is no silverlight under media in tools

Sounds like NoScript. If you open NS while on your page, are there many untrusted?
Start FF from a shell with: firefox -safe-mode then go'n retry.
The latest FP is v11.2.202.285. You're one version behind..

Ideally you want to employ a 'process of elimination' type approach- starting with a safe mode visit.
As for FP >> Grab the tar.gz as described here, then go and extract libflashplayer.so as instructed.

While they all claim compatibility with Mozilla's latest..
DoNotTrackMe? Problem example >> Why is DNTMe interfering with Facebook?
"Some features on Facebook won’t work if you’re blocking tracking companies."
Priv3 doesn't seem likely, but then again..
ProxTube? Best review of three posted.
Greasemonkey? I can only speculate..

FF works fine on YouTube, correct? These two tests here?
Forget the page and instead supply the name of the site.
Dump your cache & make sure your value here equals 2.
And hey >> feel free to *elaborate* on what was done.

Grab this, then this. You can save the latter anywhere. So long as your add-ons don't conflict- continue.
Get on the page that's been giving you trouble.
Once there, open >> tools >> default user agent >> hit 'import' then find and select your file.
Try one of the Chrome versions under Linux, OK your way out and refresh the page.
If we're dealing with an embedded player, keep Iron/Chrome installed.
