How does Puppy do updates?

How does Puppy do updates?

I am new to Puppy and am running Puppy Precise. I was wondering how to check on updates, or if Puppy alerts you automatically when an update is available.

This info is probably somewhere on the site already, so apologies for asking if it is.

Normally updates happen in the next release.
But sometimes service packs are issued, such as this one.

In fact, if you are running Precise Puppy 5.7 you will be alerted and prompted to download the Service Pack 1 that has just been made available --as soon as you open Puppy Package Manager... --> Menu --> Setup --> Puppy Package Manager.
