X-precise-2.4 Final
Here are two ways to find the IP address of your scanner.
1. Go to its little LCD control panel screen and look through the menus for network setup. The current IP address should be listed somewhere. Ideally, you want to set this as a static (permanent) address. Otherwise, it will change every time you reboot the printer, and you will have to reinstall it in CUPS and as a scanner.
2. From your Puppy Network menu, run PeasyPort. Scan your network using the IP range 192.168.1.1-254 and Port 9100. That will be your printer.
[Edit] I notice that X-Precise has removed PeasyPort. Too bad. It's a useful tool for situations like this.

I made very good progress, but not quite there, yet.
I can get a preview and I can scan a document... however, the scanned document is not in the specified folder AND I get a popup message that quickly disappears. The message isn't there long enough to read... but, it says something about grey shades and a document in my temp folder named "out.pnm"... I don't have an application to open this document... when using text editor it is a blank document.
Any suggestions?

I followed your 1st suggestion and found the IP Address via the LCD control panel screen on the printer... it took a few minutes to scroll through the menus, but I found the "HP Network Configuration Page" and it had an option to print it out... it ended up being 2 1/2 pages of pretty interesting data about the printer (including the IP Address).
Thank you again for your great support.

Open start menu > system > hardinfo and look under network > interfaces and see if wlan0 is listed. Also run lsmod from the terminal and see if rt2500pci is listed. If not you can add it in Control panel > system > Boot manager > module tab > click here to add a new module.drgonz047 wrote:any help please?drgonz047 wrote: on other laptop i have trouble with a Ralink RT2500 Wireless LAN Card => RT2560f chip it acts like it's turned off and there is no off/on switch like on some laptops

X-precise v2.2 has been released
I've uploaded two X-precise-2.2 delta file. One from v2.0 ISO since that's the only one uploaded at the moment and one from v2.1.1. The lockups installing packages should also be fixed. A non-pae v2.2 will come shortly.
The sfs prefix has been changed to xprecise so if you want to reuse your savefile rename it to xprecisesave
See the first post for the change log and download link.

I throw the old iso away after applying the delta - so I've only got the 2.1.1 iso now - any chance of a 2.1.1 to 2.2 delta??
Thanks

Why not uploading the latest version directly? If there isn't enough space in your current host you could simply upload it to a service like dropbox.com or disk.yandex.com until you make some space.peebee wrote:Hi rg66rg66 wrote:X-precise v2.2 has been released

It's not a space issue, it's an ISP issue. I'm living in Africa and my internet sucks, I get lots of timeouts. If there's no major issues I'll upload the full ISO.vicmz wrote:Why not uploading the latest version directly?
