S.A.N.E 1.0.18 / ScannerBaseSystem

#1 Post by smitt »

Tested on Puppy1.07 with the Scanner Plustek Optic Pro 9630P (parport) - works now between 50 and 600 dpi (with Sane1.0.16 only 50-150 dpi)

Information about S.A.N.E: http://www.sane-project.org/
http://jocr.sourceforge.net/

ToDo:
1. If you have an old sane (example: sane_backends-1.0.15): remove and reboot
2. Install sane1.0.18part01.pup + sane1.0.18part02.pup (optional languages pups: 1.0.18international.pup)

Important:
3. Look for your scanner (for example "#umax_pp") at file: /etc/sane.d/dll.conf and and remove this sign: " # "
4. Look to the file for your scanner (for example "plustek_pp.conf.new") at folder: /etc/sane.d/ and remove the last dot " . " and "new"

If you need a frontend look here (xSane0.991.pup):
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.p ... bf40ab8c27

Note:
Perhaps you have to change the permissions of xsane...
Rox: Go to /usr/bin/xsane...
Mouse right on permissions of xsane...
Change the permissions to execute (first command).

I have a UMAX SCSI scanner that the SANE website lists as compatible. I installed these dotpups for both the front and back ends but XSane can't detect it. Do I need to compile my own version?
