Hi I'm running Slacko 5.3.
I want to install a Brother MFC-9120CN scanner.
Following rcrsc51's instructions I downloaded brscan3-0.2.11-5.amd64.deb and installed it with debbi:
debbi brscan3-0.2.11-5.amd64.deb
I then tried to execute:
brsaneconfig3 -a name=Brother model=MFC-9120CN ip=10.0.0.7
and got the error:
bash: /usr/bin/brsaneconfig3; cannot execute binary file.
I tried using chmod to make the file executable, but same result.
Any advice please?
Cannot execute binary file
I doubt that rcrsn51 would recommend a 64 bit binary for a 32 bit OS . It just doesn't work.Following rcrsc51's instructions I downloaded brscan3-0.2.11-5.amd64.deb and installed it with debbi:
debbi brscan3-0.2.11-5.amd64.deb

[Solved] Cannot execute binary file
No, this is using a newer machine with dual pentium E2140 (64bit) architecture.
Anyhow, I downloaded the 32 bit version, repeated the steps and it worked immediately! So many thanks to rcrsn51 and all who commented!
BTW, using rcrsn51's instructions I had already got printing going. So thanks again rcrsn51 - you're very generous to beginners like me.
