Lighthouse 64 602 Beta2 with GIMP-2.8.4 (6-29-2013)
Hi @Fabio T
For anything newer, we may have to appeal to @01Micko for his updated version which can be used here.

You may already have solved this. But, if not, for LH64's built-in Frisbee, right-click the networking icon on the taskbar to select "Setup Networking". See Frisbee in the opening window.Fabio T wrote: ... Another question (please). If I want to install Frisbee, what Can I do? Frisbee beta available on forum don't works. ...

LibreOffice MultiSave
The MultiSave extension for LibreOffice implies that it can save a document to several types at once.
When I open LibreOffice I can see MultiSave and MultiSave-As under File but when I open a PDF document those disappear.
I'm guessing it cannot convert a PDF to a .doc or other text format.
Does anyone know of a LibreOffice extension that can get the job done?
Thanks!

Re: LibreOffice MultiSave
Hi @Edoc
One option for those "uneditables" is to open it in a PDF viewer/editor OR in your Google ID under docs.google.com; then copy-paste-save in Libre.
Also, as I seem to remember, I think a PDF created by Libre can be an "editable" PDF. I have to create a document, then save as PDF, then re-open to see it I can continue editing.
Hope this helps
I am no expert on this as it is asked by your question; The idea when PDF technology were initially concieved and created, it was that they were a means for making "finalized" documents...not to be edited. But, tools have come along (even from Adobe) that support editing certain PDF types and saving. Still, you may have a PDF that does not support re-saving as a PDF. Without using the multi-function feature, does Libre allow you to, singularly, save the document to a new PDF?edoc wrote:... I'm guessing it cannot convert a PDF to a .doc or other text format.

Thank you for your reply.
I can edit & save the PDF in LibreOffice.
Somewhere there must be an extension that equips LibreOffice to Export As a PDF to text ... I'll keep looking.
Thanks again.
ps. I avoid Google anything as they are not my friend any more than Russia is a friend to the Ukraine.

I have successfully installed LH64M on my Dell Optiplex 740 Enhanced, with 3 Gb of RAM. I had a problem getting the savefile to save, then found that either Ubuntu or Mint had formatted sda5 to some weird filesystem I'd never heard of; using GPartEd to reformat it ext4 solved the problem. And despite my n00bness, I managed to update Firefox and get it to run from the Browser button (although the icon changed and. I can't figure out how to change it back).
I've been having serious problems with getting any OS to run on this machine. It came with Ubuntu Karmic and upgraded all the way to Trusty...but then a tweak was found to be unwanted and I could not get it to revert. Since that event, I was unable to reinstall Ubuntu or install Mint, and was very happy to get LH6M to be so compliant.
So even an Aspie like me can get Mariner to run well. Any word on TaZoC's return and a Final version?

LibreOffice is not working... I have downloaded the SFS and have it in the correct directory, but something is happening. When I click on the icon, it says
File doesn't exist, or I can't acess it: /opt/libreoffice4.0/share/xdg/startcernter.desktop
When I go to the directory, /opt/libreoffice4.0/share/ is there but there is no xdg subdirectory. I've check "hidden files" just in case.
Any ideas?
Hugs,
Moss

Are you running "LH64 Mariner"? It has it all built-in. And when you boot from DVD, you "can" select which/all additions that you want loaded from the DVD. If you chose all, you have everything integrated upon arrival at desktop.zaivala wrote:LibreOffice is not working... Let us know
P.S. Did you start from DVD or from some other approach?
The difference, besides Lighthouse being easier to understand in general than FatDog64, is that Lighthouse is based on Slax while FatDog64 is based on Ubuntu Precise... so installing a printer in FatDog64 would be "Get the .DEB" and I have no idea what file format is in Slax/Slackware. Hence the question.
Thunderbird 64 bit
As I love this puplet, I started a little support in my blog, repo and Puppy forum (first, QEMU: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=88604).
Today is the time for another software, Thunderbird. Claws-mail built-in (my favourite) isn't compiled with OpenSSL support. So, I can't use as it is, I'd have to compile it and I haven't got time, right now.
Download Thunderbird package from my repository, PET section (see my sign for address).
Please, if you want to share, don't link directly my repo resources. They periodically will be overwritten by newer versions or can be moved for more efficient folder organization or for hosting reasons. Don't leave orphan links all over the web, browse repository instead (that is safe to link).
Enjoy!

How to read Audio CD CDDA?
I'm trying to copy some audio story files to a MP3 player so our son may more conveniently listen to them.
I cannot see them using the usual LH64 apps but VLC generates this:
I have a 32-bit Netbook and another laptop w/Linux I can try if not this 64-bit.
Thanks!

Yes, sorry, CD's.

Can VLC play the tracks as an audio CD? I am confused by the message:
The format of 'cdda:///dev/dvd' cannot be detected.
I don't understand this statement. Does it have anything to do with the task at hand?Keeping the little guy occupied on drives is important to sanity - trying to store, handle, & change CD's in that cramped space is not good for sanity ...
