I have fixed the bug related your terminal output (thank you), but I don't think this is related why you can't open pMusic.
Can you help me bit more? pMusic offer an option to dump gui-code, that you can attach here so I can test it. like this...All options are listed by pmusic -hCode: Select all
pmusic --dump-gtk > /root/pmusic_gtk
Sigmund
Code: Select all
# pmusic --dump-gtk > /root/pmusic_gtk
/root/.pmusic/pmusicrc: line 42: gxexport: command not found

Same as above taken with pmusic 4.3.2 - I uninstalled the 4.3.1 pet first then installed the newer pet and ran pmusic from a terminal as follows:
Code: Select all
# pmusic --dump-gtk > /root/pmusic_gtk
find: `/initrd/mnt/dev_save': No such file or directory
cat: /root/.pmusic/index_mymusic: No such file or directory

Your gtk-dump seems just fine, and I can't see the reason for pMusic not showing up as long as gtkdialog is valid.

(solved) pmusic 4.3.8 not playig audio-CDs on dpup-wheezy
Hi Sigmund,
@ dpup-wheezy users at least ...
this has been solved; but i believe usefull to keep the infos on the forum in case of...
1. what went wrong
First using pMusic-4.3.8; and aftrwds on version 4.3.3 (after having deleted /root/.pmusic folder):
I've tried various pMusic settings in order to get pMusic reading an audioCD (cdda);
Files/Preferences/Replay has been set on /dev/dcrom as also on /dev/sr0 sr1 ... no difference ..!
I've set the /Menu/Setup/CD/DVD bruner in order to have cdrom as sr0 and DVD as sr1;
In pMusic, selecting Files/Read audio CD as also Music Sources/CD does not even start the drive engine ... all stays quiet;
what was working:
1.1. Eject CD works according to the current DVD/CD setup;
1.2.on the very same whatever wheezy-3.5.2.5 or 3.5.2.11 session,
both pCD and Peasy CD Player open the audio CD and display the tracks titles.
2. further testings and diggings..
doing:
when closing pMusic Cd Player then there is an infinite comment
more ...:
when having made firstrun:
there is a tmp_cd file in .pmusic having
3. solution
having this last above tmp_cd content , I ran in console ... and again
Looking inside /usr/lib:
- /usr/lib/libcdio.so.12 is only a symlink to /usr/lib/libcdio.so.13.00 which comes with wheezy-3.5.2.5 and laters ... and does not meet the cddb_query needs ... although it is more recent
So need finding a genuine libcdio.so.12 !
3.1. browing the web i found a libcdio.so.12 from rpm package (no longer available at Debian repo ...) which fixed that error, and brought pMusic to display the audio-CD titles; (see attached)
3.2 another solution (prefered): compile libcddb against wheezy-3.5.2.11:
attached is that new compile pet; which also fixed the above error.
nb: the date 20130430 is the revision date reported on sourceforges libcddb repo (in fact the latest revision date is 2009 according to libcddb.org repo...)
