Hi. I try compile this drivers from nvidia page, use devx and kernel for my slacko 5.7.0 and all go ok. but on the end I got problem, got error some files missing.
Anyway is some allready compiled .pet files availible ?
Must do that because that compaq d500 or d505 is slow with onboard graphic, and that 3D video upgrade vizard not work, okay work but say is nothing new for you "something like that"

well that suggests the kernel sources are not loaded for some reason .... they should be in /usr/src........ and links in /lib/modules/{version} should point there. Perhaps tell us what the sources are called to make sure they are correct.
Otherwise you may find floating around a prebuilt 96.xx.xx driver for that particular puppy anyway which makes life much easier...then you only have to fight with stopping the nouveau driver loading
Must be allmost shure, because (I persuaded him) this guy who own that computer migrate to slacko just because viruses and worm's .etc from win xp
So Is not good for my reputation if he stuck on the first day LOL
Okay I will install this with teamviewer and how I can unload that noveau on the start ?
another thing, this guy use his big screen TV for monitor, and he say I allmost lost mouse pointer every time, So Is possible make mouse pointer bigger and change color too ?
Okay thank you
(will listen your advice and from now open new threads)
so must find driver for that kernel, anyway, I got one same AGP video card, and I will make another PC bow Install puppy there and try again compile drivers, I hope will success.
There is a script around the forum thats supposed to help with building nvidia drivers but I am not sure where it is but its just automates what you are trying to do anyway.
Is any option if I say (if) will success in install that mx 440 drives to another allmost same hardware machine, to make a .pet installer from that compiled drivers ?
I dont know if this even possibl, because Im win user before, so is better to ask upfront
I think i will freakout about that problem, and I can not understand how the damm I install on same way nvidia drivers (but on another PC and dif. model graphic card) But I do same like here and now somehow not go.
I allways got in first place "missing /etc/OpenCL folder, than I make that folder and give read and write ritghts to that folder too
and next time I got
nvidia modules filed
So I afraid maybe not got propper driver from nvidia ?
Okay. I figure out, must be some thing wrong with that because if I try compile another nvidia driver, all work OK. and I got .sfs and .pet file on the end
I think must find another link for that driver, not from nvidia cuz that file must be fu**** I try DL few times and same happen every time.

Sometimes I've found that the browser's download manager may be problematic, so in those cases I open a console to use wget and paste the link to the file.
Saludos.
