Video Editor kdenlive 0.9.8 for Precise
Video Editor kdenlive 0.9.8 for Precise
Hi.
I'm currently trying to build a SFS Module of kdenlive 0.9.8 for Precise.
Actually I have rendered successfully a video using kdenlive 0.9.8.
The Video was made by using a Video (mp4) track with muted audio plus adding a separate audio track. It plays fine in gnome-mplayer.
But there are a few issues:
- the GUI is missing all the Icons
- a few menu titles are showing 'No text' instead of a menu title name
- the app is complaining some mime-types etc.
( see attached Images )
Any hints, how to solve this?
Thanks,
RSH

I had made a ldd on /usr/bin/kdenlive and then downloaded all the missing files (some of them was for kde like libkdeui).
So I see, Icons aren't dependencies.
Just loaded my locally existing KDE SFS Module, restarted kdenlive and surprise, surprise...
...all Icons are available!
The "No text" issue of some Menu titles remains, but the complained missing mime-types are gone.
So I think I need to edit the .mo file for kdenlive and to sort out the needed files from KDE Basic SFS Module to have the Icons etc. and to put them into the LP2_kdenlive-0.9.8.sfs.
Thanks.

Hey RSH, still working on this?
It was the same when I compiled kdenlive from source. I had to grab the icons and mimetypes from somewhere and install them in the pet. You can probably use the ones from my old kdenlive sfs:

I'm working on several Projects and, yes, this is still active.
After including the icons and mime types a new issue appears. When trying to save a project the application quits without saving any data. Looks like it needs the file selector gui from kde. Again after loading the kde sfs saving the project was successful.
Both SFS Modules in combination are sized at 200 MB, which isn't that much.
The "No text" issue remains since I've not yet tried to edit the locales file/s.
Everything will be uploaded when releasing L.A.S.S.I.E. 003 (I think I'll remove LazY Puppy and its SFS Modules then, to save some space).
Btw.: I hope you are well.

Yes, I'm fine!Announcer wrote:Hope you are well also.
No, I'm not sure about this, since I do have several options.Announcer wrote:You sure? LazY Puppy was pretty groundbreaking when it came out, almost revolutionary.
However, LazY Puppy and its SFS Modules are already mirrored at archive.org, so it won't really get lost, if I'm probably going to remove this from smokey01.com.
Though, probably I will not publish L.A.S.S.I.E. 003 but maybe I'll just publish the JWM-Menu-Pipes package instead. This way anyone using a JWM-Puppy will be able to appreciate the benefits of this package (and keep the save file functions which I have removed from L.A.S.S.I.E. 003) - not only L.A.S.S.I.E. users.
The benefits would be JWM Menu Pipes for:
- Personal Files (external storage)
- Personal Favourite Applcations (external and internal)
- Recently used Files
- Rox Bookmarks
- List of SFS Modules loaded (unloads the SFS directly by clicking its list item)
- External Scripts
- Portable Linux Applications
- Windows Installer Packages (loads Wine automatically first)
- Windows Portable Applications (loads Wine automatically first)
- RoxApp Application-Directories (even shinobar's portables)
I'm using such menu pipes for a long time now, but doing it in Openbox Window Manager. When starting to work on the Openbox menu pipes I wasn't able to create such for JWM. That's why JWM is removed and Openbox is installed in all of my private LazY Puppy Variants.
By now, having this ability available in JWM, I really start to like JWM and maybe I will be able to solve this as well for IceWM, which I do like a bit more.
We will see...
Wish you well!
