Any idea how to fix thissmokey01 wrote:I've just noticed links in Notecase no longer work in fd700b2.
It doesn't seem to recognise defaultbrowser. I think that's what Notecase is calling.

The ability to boot anything on any Chromebook varies by BIOS, CPU+MB, vendor and "touch displays".yerc1 wrote: ... Is there anything I need to do to run Fatdog64-700 on the chromebook?
Yes, the 3.17 kernel brings chromebook support. Try booting with mem=1950m kernel option. I have a Acer c720, with the stock firmware I needed that kernel option. Could try a lower number if that doesn't work. The fatdog-split-initrd.sh can be used to make a small initrd and a separate sfs file, then you don't need that kernel option. I made a custom version of Fatdog64-631 for the Acer c720, it's here:I was hoping this Fatdog64, with its 3.17 kernel will get the touchpad on my Toshiba Chromebook CB30 working.
It won't boot on the chromebook. The error message says something about not enough memory iirc.
Totally agree with you on the chromebook situation with regards Toshibas. Good thing is Carolina/X-slacko run almost perfectly on my Toshiba chromebook. The only thing missing is touchpad support. I don't have Acer c720 but there seems to be widespread support for it.gcmartin wrote:Hello @Yerc1The ability to boot anything on any Chromebook varies by BIOS, CPU+MB, vendor and "touch displays".yerc1 wrote: ... No PUP as yet has a clear path on this and for those who will be purchasing in coming year-end sales, instructions to do this will be in greater demand in 2015. There are 2 new changes now occurring in Chromebooks: display technology and resolution, as well as TOUCH. Expect to see much of this on/before US's CES in early months of 2015.
But, hark, there may be some instructions forthcoming.

Boot option mem=1500m allowed my Toshiba Chromebook to run this Fatdog.kirk wrote:Yes, the 3.17 kernel brings chromebook support. Try booting with mem=1950m kernel option. I have a Acer c720, with the stock firmware I needed that kernel option. Could try a lower number if that doesn't work.
As stated above, the touchpad is enabled, but difficult to use in Fatdog. I'm hoping the patched version of the synaptics touch pad will change that.kirk wrote:I also have a patched version of the synaptics touch pad driver that makes the touch pad less aggravating for me. I'll add it to the package manager before final.
Thanks Ted. I've got a Dell e6430 from work that I dual boot Windows7 and Fatdog64, that's been my experience too.finally tried win10 on my server. The technical preview installed easy for once and ran ok. But playback does not tear the screen.... It outright drops frames to keep up. Very Happy So there.. Kirk and JB best both Microsoft and Apple on there own hardware ( minimac and windows home server 2012 machines. )
Shocked
keep up the good work guys
That will be fixed for the next release. ThanksRecently, xterm popped up for a scrip and I noticed the font seem strange. I ran Xterm from urxvt and got this error message:
Code:
xterm: cannot load font '-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--14-130-75-75-c-70-*-*'
The patched synaptics driver is here. For my c720 I set AreaBottomEdge=400 that way I can have one finger resting on the bottom of the clickpad. I had problems with setting that in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d so I set it in a script that I put in /root/Startup. I've attached the script I use.As stated above, the touchpad is enabled, but difficult to use in Fatdog. I'm hoping the patched version of the synaptics touch pad will change that.
Thanks for Fatdog and I look forward to the final version.
