Hello Martin, take a look through a few of these.. There may be something favorable within them.

hello dear Semme,
many many thansk for all the hints - on a quick fiew on all that ressources i saw that many many ppl are facing the same issues
i have to admint - that i did not test all the things untill now. but some of the approaches did not fit.
now i will try all the others. I Will do all the tests and come back and report!
ON A SIDENOTE: well one thing i can test is to enter BIOS, and control brightness with <fn> keys - i need to get to know if i get it to a ssatisfactory level with this method?
and perpahs this may help: on this site; https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV ... ss_control
but this code does not work for me...:
note: i have no problem with the function of the fn keys - they work and i can adjust the brigthness in a certain range. but the range is very limited.
again: i will do all the tests again - and then i come back here again.
i am glad that this site is so supportive. And you semme you do a great job here.
keep on doing this.
many many greetings -and thanks for all you do

hello dear semme
well kutsches issue had to do with the fn-keys.
my keys work well - so i have to find a soltion where i can increase the brightness somehow. despite the fact that the fn-keys were workin quite well....
i will try to digg deeper and come back again when i know more.
meanwhile many many thanks to you

Did you get a chance to install xbacklight? Here, this'll give us your card:
Code: Select all
lspci -nnk | grep VGA

hello dear Semme
many thanks for the reply - sorry was offline some days.
...here is what i have
btw - found an interesting article - enabling backlight-controll - with special regard on NVIDIA.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV ... ss_control
well - lots (tons) of information. I want to read through all that at the weekend.
do you think that these things on archlinux may help?
look forward to hear from you again
