Malicious Link on Puppylinux.com (Solved)
The link "Lobster's website has a Puppy slideshow" on www.puppylinux.com/about.htm is malicious.
I tried to use the BK home contact, but registration failed.
Didn't know where else to post, hope this is ok.

Malicious in what way? I find no problem with 192.185.16.132.

This is why you should ALWAYS pay attention to your address bar.
Yet another "here today, gone tommorrow" member.
You say otherwise? Time'll tell..

well, to give more detail, the first click through brought me to a furniture site, back arrow, brought me to another spam site, and back arrow again just reloaded the same spam site.
I clicked the link again to try to confirm info before reporting, and a new page was displayed, claiming that I had a security problem and that the site was going to automatically update my security for me.
So at least some of what the link connects to at least claims to be carrying out malicious functions (updating files without user consent), though it may in fact simply be spam.

Well, I have not made any such claim. Still haven't even downloaded puppy yet, still reading up.Semme wrote: You say otherwise? Time'll tell..
In any case, I thought reporting the bad link would be a minor service to the Puppylinux community, and maybe someone who can register/ is registered could pass the info along to Barry.
It may be that no one will care enough to update the link, and perhaps it's low on the priorities list *shrugs*

Yes. My last post didn't appear here though, I'll have to retype. I chalk it up to lack of familiarity with the forumSemme wrote:Get my pm?

about registration failure at BKHome:
I got the point where I was supposed to receive a registration email from BKHome, but it never came.

Lobster's slideshow is no longer there. I have removed the link.newbie puppy wrote:The link "Lobster's website has a Puppy slideshow" on www.puppylinux.com/about.htm is malicious.
Thanks for letting me know.
Note, I don't always read everything posted on the forum, in fact usually only monitor a few threads, so I only stumbled upon your post.
An alternative would have been to send me a personal message in this forum.

Not bizarre at all... a Jedi master can detect even subtle disturbances in the force...Semme wrote:Thanks for letting you know? Bizarre....
