I compiled xfce-4.11.x but the same issues were there, menu wont display icons if the .desktop file has an icon path or extension. It seems it's a garcon issue and an updated garcon was added to the xfce source repo literally hours ago so the problem is fixed. I'll play around for a few days looking for more bugs and if it's ok I'll update.

I'm posting from Xfce-4.12.0 now. New packages I compiled and installed are:mistfire wrote:@rg66 Glad to hear that XFCE 4.12 is now released. I wonder if the whole or trimmed (not limited to networking, power, hardware, file management) XFCE4 will be put on X-slacko?
exo-0.10.3
garcon-0.4.0
libxfce4ui-4.12.0
libxfce4util-4.12.0
thunar-1.6.6
thunar-volman-0.8.1
tumbler-0.1.31
xfce4-panel-4.12.0
xfce4-session-4.12.0
xfce4-settings-4.12.0
xfce4-terminal-0.6.3
xfconf-4.12.0
xfdesktop-4.12.0
xfwm4-4.12.0
So far no real issues, chances are it will be added to X-slacko-3b very soon. Thunar-1.6.6 still has some refresh issues but there are a few new features so I'm going to live with it. Execute or open scripts in editor can be changed with a settings-editor entry.

X-slacko-3b6
Delta downloaded and applied. md5sum on iso produced with delta checks out. Pristine Grub4Dos boot on the all intel core 2 duo laptop (iwlwifi, Cantiga chip video). As expected, no sound or video issues, WPA2 connection with Frisbee fine, posting from it now. Some nice touches in 4.12. Haven't really explored it in detail. Think I'll not try to update my 4.10 savefile. Going to just use it a bit, then put it on the Pentium M laptops and kernel swap, probably to 3.14.20, for the Bay Trail boxes.rg66 wrote:X-slacko-3b6 delta uploaded
Thanks once again,
Pups currently in kennel :D Older LxPupSc and X-slacko-4.4 for my users; LxPupSc, LxPupSc64 and upupEF for me. All good pups indeed, and all running savefiles for look'n'feel only. Browsers, etc. solely from SFS.

Re: X-slacko-3b6
I've been using 4.12 all day now and it's running nicely, haven't really noticed any bugs and CPU and RAM usage seem about the same as 4.10.x. Slacko-6 in itself is quite stable, and I think 3b is getting close to releasing as v3.0 but I'll either compile newer kernels or use Tahr's PAE and nonPAE.Marv wrote:Some nice touches in 4.12. Re: X-slacko-3b6
Ditto on the CPU and RAM usage. I've had excellent luck with the 3.14.20 kernels from Tahr. Currently using the updated 3.14.20 nonPAE from Tahrpup 6.02. New enough to keep the Bay trails finicky USB at bay and stable. They also work well with the Xorg/MESA/i915 driver versions in X-slacko 3b for the integrated Bay Trail video.rg66 wrote: I've been using 4.12 all day now and it's running nicely, haven't really noticed any bugs and CPU and RAM usage seem about the same as 4.10.x. 3b6: working nicely, thanks.
Palemoon still refuses to open on my HW (XP2400/2.5Gb/Radeon9200) but Firefox and FP v.10 from the repos are stable. Need to be a tad careful with boot up on Radeon cards - I used the 'nox' cheat code and selected modesetting for 'live' use. All the other minor irritants from 3b5 and earlier seem to be fixed.
Nice on!

I've uploaded an X-slacko-3b-xfce-4.12_DEV.pet and X-slacko-3b-xfce-4.10.x_DEV.pet which might be needed when compiling. Also includes dbus and a few other packages dev files.

Hi rg66
Great stuff - all seems to be working very smoothly here.
Great to see that the panel now has "intelligent" hiding - thats been a feature of lxpanelx for some time that never made it into lxpanel.
There is a patch needed for Slacko6Beta2 to enable f2fs use - the pet I use (thanks originally to SFR) is attached.
Cheers

I hadn't tried intelligent hiding yet, that's pretty cool. Thanks for the patched lib, I'll add it to the next release.peebee wrote:Great to see that the panel now has "intelligent" hiding - thats been a feature of lxpanelx for some time that never made it into lxpanel.

OK, installed on my triad.
Fujitsu S6520 laptop (Core 2 duo, iwlwifi 5300 wireless, intel Cantiga graphics chip).
Fujitsu S6120/6210/6231 & Dell D610 latitude laptops (all Pentium M, ipw2200 wireless, intel 855GM graphics).
Asrock Q1900M mobo desktops (intel j1900 quad core processor with integrated ethernet and intel 4000 HD graphics).
Both stock and updated 3.14.20 kernels from Tahrpup run on the laptops and the 3.14.20 kernel on the Bay Trail desktop. 3b6 seems solid on all with clean boots, sound, WPA2 and wired connections with Frisbee, and uhci or xhci USB drivers loaded as appropriate. Intel drivers and MESA used in all cases and glxgears FPS fall right in line with previous 3bx builds. Inbuilt Palemoon runs well with a symlink to my profile in my boot directory. I'm gradually warming to it. I do get one warning wrt uhci in dmesg but function and speed are fine in all.
I have no USB 3.0 devices to check and do set the dropwait time in Frisbee to 15 seconds to wait out the ipw2200 dropsies. Posting from one of the Pentium Ms now and it just reminded me (midpost) to set the dropwait. All in all I'd say

Thanks for testing Marv.
I've heard about that warning before, Barry says it's a kernel issue so can't be sorted. Can't remember what thread it was in.
Running good for me so far but I've already got a list of fixes so b7 is inevitable.

I was reading about that earlier. I do have the hardware but it took some guy 10 hrs to compile, no thanks. Chances are I'll be changing to Firefox anyway.bark_bark_bark wrote:If you have the hardware, you can recompile palemoon for processors that don't have SSE2.

Are you good in shell scripting? If yes, can you please modify the GUI for pupsave. Instead of flashing countdown on top of the screen (its annoying that upon countdown gtkdialog appers on taskbar), a progress bar in form is showed just like this one created by shinobar:

I've uploaded the recently updated mousepad text editor and ristretto image viewer. Mousepad looks to be completely redone, and for a light weight text editor, it's much better than leafpad.
