Hello all.
If you need a fast, competent and lightweight browser, links2 is it.
This latest version 2.10 compiled from source for Puppy with javascript and
full graphics (jpg, png, svg, tiff) enabled, following the author's instructions.
Heads up! Most Puppies have most of those libraries. Meaning: you may need
to install extra libraries in your Puppy to get the full benefit of this compilation. Leave
me a note here mentioning which lib you need. I had to install all of them for this
compilation, so it's a simple matter for me to share them through this thread.
links2 will also run in console mode. It's the ideal Internet app to define in your
/usr/local/bin/defaulthtmlviewer script. Granted, it's weirder to use (menu access
is by keyboard), but it's more of a browser, less of a pager, than dillo, IMO.
If how fast you gather information on the Internet matters to you, this is the one
you need, this is a Formula1 browser. It is extremely fast on Internet searches.
Compiled in pemasu's raringPup-3.9.9.2, it should work in all Puppies with a
glibc of 2.17 or newer.
