Please explain. What does this have to do with PWF?8Geee wrote:Using a paint program of choice, the needed svg icons can be shrunk to a few standard sizes 16x16, 22x22, 24x24, 32x32, 48x48, 64x64. Using 'save_as' allows one to toggle from reduced image to normal image. Just substitute the reduced images appropriately (recommended: put in one place then copy each to the needed location)
PeasyWiFi - a reliable WiFi connection manager
Hi rcrsn51,
I've been trying out the new MintPup and found that my wireless wasn't enabled on boot at that time (RF_KILL toggles radio disabled on boot and didn't automatically re-enable it at that time). I have since discovered that frisbee automatically enables wireless again on installation. I haven't had time to also test PeasyWIFI to see if it also contains code to auto-enable wireless and just thought I'd mention this to you in case of interest. The mechanism I believe frisbee uses is discussed by myself in MintPup thread here (note my understanding may well be wrong since was basically searching around in the dark for the explanation...):

It appears that PeasyWIFI won't connect out of the box on MintPup (and presumably DebianDog) owing to, what 'might' be the relatively simple problem for yourself to address, that it uses dhcpcd client whereas default in Debian systems is dhclient:

No. the encrypted profile is copied into /tmp and decrypted. The temporary copy is then sent to wpa_supplicant and immediately deleted.Scooby wrote:When you use encryption, after you entered PIN, is the password readable in conf file for the remainder of that session?
But I'm not going to swear to that. There may be some scenarios where it hangs around.
PeasyConnect V3.4b on ToOpPy Linux France
PeasyConnect V3.4b on ToOpPy Linux France by Argolance (default tool for wireless) works fine too. Is there a topic about it ? I didn't find it in the forum.

Re: PeasyConnect V3.4b on ToOpPy Linux France
PeasyConnect is basically PeasyWiFi with a different user interface made by Argolance for ToOpPy. It also manages other connection methods.Pelo wrote:PeasyConnect V3.4b on ToOpPy Linux France by Argolance (default tool for wireless) works fine too. Is there a topic about it ? unable to find PeasyWiFi in Puppy Package Manager
Hullo !
I've been trying to find a way to connect to an eduroam network with Puppy. PeasyWiFi seems to be the solution, Unfortunately, however, I am unable to find such a package in Puppy Package Manager.
That which I have tried : updating the repositories with the following selected :
Puppy 5, common, precise, noarch and tahr
Other Peasy packages show up (glue, scan, et cetera).
Now, it is entirely possible that I have simply overlooked something as I am in still in my first month of using this distro.
Many thanks,
bleu

PeasyWiFi does not connect on boot
Hi - when I boot Puppy, PeasyWiFi does not connect automatically. I have to reboot the graphical server upon which it does connect quickly. Any ideas as to why this would be ? It might be worth mentionning that the other network managers do not detect any interfaces upon booting either... so maybe the problem does not lie with Peasy. If that is the case, would you be able to direct me to someone else ?
Thanks,

Not once in your posts have you provided any specs,
even when asked.
Here is my tip for such occasions.

Hi rcrsn51,
Well, the issue seems to have resolved itself. I'm not sure quite what it was but I think that it was a combination of the fact that the WiFi was weak (at the library for exampe, I had to move the laptop around a bit and then it connected), and perhaps the fact that I was using the same usb on a laptop (Thinkpad T40) and on a desktop computer.
So, all that said, I've been able to use WiFi correctly with the occasional graphical restart. But not enought to warrant, in my opinion, further investigation I think it is WiFi signal strength (or weakness....) induced.
Autostart works nicely (just used it).
Voilà.

Mucked around a bit with router and saw that I have
AES set for encryption with wpa2.
Now my peasywifi profile has
It has TKIP for value, it still does connect despite the TKIP values
Can I edit TKIP here to AES? and if so should that not be a
an option in GUI in peasywifi?
could you please explain how a profile with AES should look?
