Wine 0.9.28
Wine allows to run many Windows programs in Puppy.
!! Important !!
If you had an older version installed, delete ALL files in /usr/lib/wine/ first
use this dotpup:

If you dont use Puppy 2.12, rename it to Wine-0.9.28_XXX.sfs
where XXX is your Puppyversion. This will not work in Puppy 2.10.
The .sfs must be placed in /mnt/home (only if that exists, do not create that on your own).
Then reboot and type in a consolewindow:
update-mime-database /usr/share/mime
rox -o -p /root/Choices/ROX-Filer/PuppyPin
###############################
Run "winecfg" from a consolewindow or from the dotpups-menu.
If it will not launch, install this pre-configured "/root/.wine":

Though those are from an older version, they should work.
If you prefer a Windows XP like look:

The audio-tab does not crash any longer (bug in older versions).
Included is a symlink /root/WINDOWS-C-DRIVE and mimetypes, so you can click on a .exe in Rox to run it.

yes, the .sfs is for people using Puppy in a way that supports it.
Advantage is, that is does not use any space in pup_save.3fs.
If your Puppy does not mount .sfs files due to your type of installation, use the dotpup instead.

I was sent an error-report by WhoDo, concerning OpenGL (GLX initialization failed -> crash).
I have 3D accelleration on my system, so get no error.
At moment I'm compiling an alternative version --without-opengl.
May take an hour or so.

I tried restarting X - still no result.
Clicking on executable still produces nothing. Haven't tried using winefile to install yet. It's after midnight here so I'll try again tomorrow.

If there was no mime-type, you would get an error-message from Rox.
If simply nothing happens, then this indicates, that wine crashed.
So if you have a working wine, clicking on .exe should work.

I updated the -without-OpenGL dotpup and .sfs
They are smaller now, uninstall previous wine-installations first.
/usr/lib/wine maybe should contain no old files.
I have no libGL.so and libGLU.so now, and it seems to work.
If you still encounter problems, please set Direct3D to none in winecfg.
Also try to delete/rename /root/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/opengl32.dll. if that exists.
Though for me those steps are not required.

I removed the previous install and manually deleted the /root/.wine directory before reinstalling.
I also set Direct3D to "none" in winecfg.
I tried using Rox 1.2 and Rox 2.5, restarting X in between.
I even tried to manually run the installer.exe from within winefile to no avail.
All internal apps still run, but I can't use anything else. Sorry.

This version of wine supports Windows themes, so wine-applications do no longer look ugly grey, but can use the elegant Luna theme from XP or other themes.

this theme is taken from a german Windows XP.
I don't know if it is legal to spread this theme without buying XP.
So you might not add it to an iso to avoid legal problems.
I just used it for tests, and will replace it with a free theme later.

Didn't install OpenGL. I tried to get that running with your 3DCC once before, but it didn't like my graphics so I gave it a miss. Don't know why it should spit the dummy on my graphics though; agpgart says it detects an Intel 915GM chipset with a 256Mb aperture size.
