Barry Kauler released Appril 7.1 on Aug 18, 2015
Key features:
latest Quirky April series
built from source using T2
not related to any other distributions
7.1 aims for Android app developers and include these softwares:
Android SDK
Android Studio
App Inventor
Oracle JDK
LiveCode
download file is near 1GB.
The intention is to have out-of-the-box, just-click-and-get-going Android app development, catering for total non-programmers with App Inventor, through intermediate with LiveCode, to hard-core coders with Android Studio.
A significant feature of Appril is that App Inventor runs locally, whereas the official project is hosted by MIT "in the cloud".
A very significant difference from all other quirkies, puppies and Puppy-derivatives, is that Appril contains all development tools. Other pups are designed for users, with a optional humongous "devx" package available to provide all compiling, version control, etc.
Appril has it all builtin, absolutely everything you can think of.
This makes Appril superb as a compiling environment for any Linux project.
The full Samba as well. You can see the package list in the running Appril, in files /root/.packages/woof-installed-packages and devx-only-installed-packages.

Chinese Language Pets
Iguleder released Librepup 6.0.2.0 on Sep 26, 2015.
Key features:
It's a puplet based on tahrpup 6.0.2 that:
- Uses Trisquel 7 packages instead of Ubuntu 14.04 ones
- Replaces Pale Moon with IceCat
- Replaces Linux with Linux-libre and does not ship the non-free firmware required for some devices
All packages that work on tahrpup (except third-party drivers, which need to be rebuilt) work on Librepup as well.
Features :
- The kernel has been updating to the latest minor version, for additional security and stability
- XChat has been replaced with HexChat
- ClipIt has been replaced with Parcellite
- Third-party drivers built for Librepup are backward- and forward- compatible with new minor kernel versions
- Librepup does not offer, mention or recommended non-free software
Librepup respects the user's essential freedoms. When used on a machine with free boot firmware, it make it possible to use a computer with nothing but free software.
His philosophy
he believes every distro should be libre by default, with clearly-labeled non-free add-ons for the users that decide they want them. For example - Puppy (and any other distro) to ship with Linux-libre, while offering users the ability to switch to Linux. Otherwise, free software won't become the norm in the software industry.
Limitations :
Some peripherals that work with tahrpup (especially WiFi cards) won't work with Librepup, because they rely on non-free firmware.
Development :
Librepup is built using woof-CE-libre, a fork of woof-CE which strips all non-free software. All improvements done in woof-CE-libre were merged into woof-CE, so other Puppy derivatives can benefit from them.
Librepup version numbers correspond to those of the Puppy they're based on, but have an additional digit for Librepup-specific changes.
Legal Information :
The Librepup logo was drawn by Koz Ross and provided under the terms of the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license.

gray released precise NOP 5.4.3 on Nov 13, 2012
Nearly Office Pup is an XFCE based puplet, so called because it is a no frills pup without office apps. The idea being that you install to USB pendrive and add an SFS file of the office package.
This release is based on Precise Puppy - remastered to add xfce 4.10 desktop in place of jwm / rox and replacing Seamonkey with Opera.
Other packages such as xsane, libphoto2, abiword, gnumeric, homebank, osmo, planner, geany, notecase, & more have been removed but can easily be added back using the PPM.
13 Jan 13 - Updated to v5.4.3
Barry's bug fixes since 5.4.1.1
25 Nov 12 - Updated to revision 1 (r1):
Upgraded Opera to 12.11
Added video thumbnailer
Included Service pack 5.4.1.1 (hope I haven't been premature)

Chinese Language Pets
Barry released 64 bit April 7.2 on Oct 6, 2015
Key features:
all steady improvements after the previous release
updated and improved packages including SeaMonkey and Samba
new applications: Dia and PupWhoIs (a frontend for the 'whois' utility)
A major structural change: no /usr/X11R7, the path where T2 compiled Xorg into -- now, Xorg is in /usr, in line with all other distros.
kernel upgraded to version 4.1.7.
Detailed release notes can be found here:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/quirky ... -notes.htm
There are various files to choose from, so it is important to read the installation instructions here:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/quirky ... -notes.htm
Bug
ibiblio.org has changed how recursive spidering works (searching for files on their site), which broke some scripts.
Therefore, recommend to install this PET (just download and click on it):
