2.13 pup_save problems

#1 Post by sml »

Just loaded up a frugal install of 2.13 but have problems mounting USB storage devices when using my pup_save file. When I boot with pfix=ram then everything is fine. I tried recreating a new pup_save file but this didn't help.

Frugal HD boot with pup_save file

usb 5-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
usb 5-3: device not accepting address 3, error -110
usb 5-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
usb 5-3: device not accepting address 3, error -110
etc etc

Frugal HD boot with pfix=ram

usb 5-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
usb 5-3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
scsi0: SCSI emulation for USB mass storage devices
usb-storage: device found at 3
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
Vendor: etc etc
sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 24x/24x writer dvd-ram etc
Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision 3.20
sr 0:0:0:0 Attached scsi CD-ROM sr0
usb-storage: device scan complete

This problem also exists in 2.14 beta.

So, is the frugal install to an IDE HD? Is the pup_save.2fs file in the same
partition as Puppy is installed to?

"So, is the frugal install to an IDE HD?"

Yes.

"Is the pup_save.2fs file in the same partition as Puppy is installed to?"

Yes.

Barry - Could you please test on your notebook. I just have a centrino notebook and a simple frugal install so I am surprised nobody else has reported this problem.
