How to install VBGA in latest Puppy?

Hello:

Does anyone have any success installing virtualbox guest additions, VBGA, for either
Slacko[32|64] 6.3.0 or Tahr[32|64] 6.0.5?

If anyone has had any luck then would you please reply with
- platform being used
- version of virtualbox
- any special extra steps taken (e.g. like building a custom xorg.conf file)?


I have been trying to follow older threads like the following

but so far not much luck.

Virtualbox functionality can change drastically with various releases and sometimes certain OSes no longer work as expected.
For example LinuxMint64 17.3 seems to work much better with VB 5.0.12 than with 4.2.34

Prior to 2015 I never really had many issues installing VB guest additions on most guest linux distributions.

My host platform Win7-64bit (not by choice BTW).
[Some people need Redmond products for other reasons, where wine won't work.
VirtualBox (on Redmound products) is a compromise.]

Tried installing Slacko32 6.3.0 and Tahr64 6.0.5 with both virtualbox 4.2.34 and 5.0.12 but could never get the display to work as expected.
Installed to HD with corresponding dev sfs and kernel-source sfs and iso that shipped with VB.
Tried also loading the built VB modules manually.
