Can't use my HP Laserjet Pro 200. How to update hplip?
There are 76 items in the folder /usr/share/cups/model, mostly they are .ppd.gz files and there are 3 .ppd files.
There is no File called HP Lazerjet 200 tried to use "Or Provide a PPD File" but as I say above there is no file called HP Lazerjet 200 or anything like it when I browsed the /model folder.

So what did you do at Step 7?Continued on with step 7 and installed the PPD file into /usr/share/cups/model.
You should have downloaded the file to a temporary location, clicked on it to unpack it and copied it to /usr/share/cups/model.
So you should see a file named "hp-laserjet_200_colormfp_m276-ps.ppd".
"Or Provide a PPD File" is a button in the CUPS setup screen underneath the drop-down models list.
What are some names of the other files in /usr/share/cups/model?
Many thanks,
Here's my download.

I think we are moving forward albeit slowly. I found the pinter in the list, not at the top of the list but just on it. I've selected it and set it up in cups. Tried a test print on usb connection without success.
I'm not going to be in the shed until Monday now. Ill pick up any of your messages over the weekend and act on them on Monday.
I appreciate your time and effort. Thanks for that.

Using the same steps as I gave you, I ran some simulations and it worked. But that's not the same as having the physical printer.
I'm surprised that your model did not appear at the TOP of the list. That should happen if you have the correct matching PPD file.
Instead of printing a test page, print something from a word processor.
This printer would probably work if you were using a big-boy Linux with full HPLIP built-in.
I don't know where else to go with this.
