I am part of group that shares files and we are trying to pursue ways to access each others files without the need to have it emailed. Dropbox and teamviewer we do not wish to use. We are looking for a package that will turn the computer into a short term online file server where selected files can be access by any one of the member team.
Sincerely,

Re: Server Package?
ftpserver maybe? would be a lot easier than a full blown webserver.01Siberian Husky wrote:I am part of group that shares files and we are trying to pursue ways to access each others files without the need to have it emailed. How big are the files you are sharing?
You might be as well to use an online drive like Gdrive, which can sync with you and your friend's PCs.
Otherwise, use Hiawatha to set up a small web server from your PC.
Typically, uploading files can be pretty slow, so a home based web server is almost useless if the files are large.
