I need an email POP client for Fatdog
I don't yet have libnss3.so on my machine apparently so I cannot yet install Thunderbird. I'm not sure why I don't have that lib.
I will take any POP client that allows me to download my emails from sites like google and/or yahoo or outlook. Is there anything ready to fun on Fatdog 7?
gslapt or something? or build it from scratch?

I have that same file in the same location on my Seamonkey
I meant to say that I don't have libgtk-3.so.0
I use libgtk for a lot of stuff, and on most of my Linux boxes I have it, but on my Fatdog #1, I only have up to version libgtk-2. I have the tars in some .bz2 files, I guess I should just install libgtk-3, it doesn't interfere with version 2 and most of my software don't care which version I use as long as I give a path to it.
I think my mentioning libnss3.so is on a Redhat machine I have - I need that for installing the latest I forget Chrome or Firefox.

I tried Seamonkey mail
I don't have any clue what to put for Incoming server.

Check your email providers website, it will probably be listed in support pages.PappyPuppy wrote:I don't have any clue what to put for Incoming server.

I set it up like you said
But so far I don't see any in the Seamonkey client.
Looks like there are problems with folders. It doesn't really display my local folders at all.

I'm going to try changing my email directory
A long-lasting problem that I've always had on my machine is "permission denied". I get it all the time.
If you are asked a question you need to answer it.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

I just changed the local folder
Setting up Seamonkey's email client is a whole bunch of buttons and dialogs and it still doesn't work, what am I supposed to do? I chose the incoming and outgoing servers and a place to store the email. What more do I need?bigpup wrote:If you are asked a question you need to answer it.

There is a bug in the Seamonkey client
I should be able to choose Stop or hit the esc key, but neither stops the download attempts.

I now realize that I should set up IMAP
I would like multiple machine access.
I'll start with a google'd tutorial. Perhaps there is some google-level setting I need to enable.

OK, Google --GOOD! Is your main browser different than Seamonkey?
If it is, and warranted you can remain within the conversation, it's going to be easier to remove your current profile and start over.
Since I don't typically use Seamonkey, and not that you have to, I run its mail client via "seamonkey -mail" from a script.

Why doesn't it list the incoming server under preferences
I can't find the incoming settings like port, etc.. I had it at one time before it crashed. I want to specify SSL/TLS and normal password.

There is no incoming server - I have to start over
There is no incoming server anywhere now since the crash.
Which version of Fatdog have you got there?
Have you ever heard of TeamViewer? It's a remote connection client.
You run it, I run it. You send me an invitation, I connect and operate your desktop.
The program is switchable as well --I can invite you to connect and see my system.
Using TV for this situation would put you in business and eliminate a lot of potentially wasted time.

I just downloaded Seamonkey 2.49
But when I try to run it with ./seamonkey it can't find the file.
I'm going to reboot.
