@Pelo apparently DVD video works nicely on virtual box using iso image. I wonder if will work on real hardware when inserting DVD disc.

Good work, chaps, but beware:
"http://www.mediafire.com/download/5hhop ... 071216.iso"
tries to d/l :
"special-dl/Xslacko-slim-super_grub2_disk_hybrid_2.02s3.iso"
Really don't like the mediafire site with that accursed large intrusive pop-up behind. Just not trustworthy. There are others.

I had no problem...
But I did, this morning! ibiblio may be slow but is industry standard and utterly trustworthy. Sourceforge has never given me grief, but the stand-out selection has to be nluug.

DVD Gstreamer backend error

#109 Post by Pelo »

open location works launches DVD but gstreamer error...
Obviously with new version, i did not load a52dec-0.7.4-i486-2sl.tgz.zip

I load Targz, if ever error would disapear... Mistfire come back to previous version :!: open tgz.zip fails..
Sda2 cannot be mounted... all that was working well, before
feed back your previous version.

Did you perform frugal installation or placed sfs files of xslacko in your pc?

Pelo

i just replaced main sfs in my pendrive (sdb1)

#111 Post by Pelo »

Ah ! i just replaced main sfs in my pendrive (sdb1) used as frugal install. You think i should have restarted an install, do you ?
I take a pause ( 5 minutes) and i do the process as i used to, including all files of the ISO, not only the SFS.
5 minutes.
I keep the previous ISO available, so no risk

@Pelo did you load the save file from previous x-slacko slim version? That might be the culprit. Before you test new version, you should discard the previous save file from previous xslacko-slim version.

Gstreamer error... However i can launh movie via thunar...audio is ok.
Never i had this Gstreamer error with previous ISO
Mistfire, you would have done some mistake that i would not be surprised :!:
Is my english correct ?
Something is strange. Error messges don't always appear, depending from where you launch the movie.
Well, for your GrandMa or your babies before sleeping, Parole needs improvments as DVD player, some bugs to fix..

ISO 10jul2016 activated and its pupsave . madre de Dios, Damned, sapristi, tabernacle :!: we are not far from success...
Please mildfire, could you provide again this zip, which is garbled ?
Perhaps it's the zip tool which is bad..
Download from slackware 12 here ?
I get nervous. My old Slacko 5.3.3 made in France by Jejy69 plays the movie with parole !

mistfire wrote:@Marv I suggest to upload that PET file in mediafire or seek help in rg66 to upload that pet in his repo
kost@s has uploaded those libraries as a pet to dropbox already. The pet is nspr_nss.pet in the first post in this thread http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 217#746217. Checked the link and that peebees current chromium SFS runs fine using that this morning. Moving libs from X-slacko 4.1 I reinvented the wheel but did satisfy myself that that is the minimum required @ 1.3Mb.
Pups currently in kennel :D Older LxPupSc and X-slacko-4.4 for my users; LxPupSc, LxPupSc64 and upupEF for me. All good pups indeed, and all running savefiles for look'n'feel only. Browsers, etc. solely from SFS.

why don't you let a chance to Midori ?

#119 Post by Pelo »

eh colleagues, why don't you let a chance to Midori ? Version installed gets what i need, untill now, Facebook, You Tube videos..
Older versions were unstable, but last one seems ok... until now.

Post scriptum :
Mistfire you installed Parole from Slitaz, my resquest about a pet or SFS was about this Slitaz version.

X-slacko Slim (experimental but stable and flexible)

#120 Post by Billtoo »

I downloaded and compiled aqualung-1.0.tar.gz
It reads music cd's okay, just drag and drop from the left window to the
right, then select shuffle etc.

Seems to work well so far.
