Thanks dejan555 and brymway. Here's a file with the icons and osxbarback.png in it.

Here's the line from my startup file:

Skin is from winamp skins called unison brainstormed, you can apply it to beep media player or xmms and I'm not sure if it's supported in audacious but I think should work too.
Skin: http://www.winamp.com/skin/unison-brain ... -v5/146159
Rename skin from .wsz to .zip to unpack.
Skins usually go to /root/.bmp/Skins or similar folder depending on player...

Got some time to work on K-9 again, so I tried out some of my new toys :)
- Added Screenlets 0.1.2
- Added PieDock, a dynamic task switcher
- Doodled a new (very basic and temporary) wallpaper to test the new desktop layout

Hopefully I can finish my IntroWizard today, the one you see on the pic still misses some extra steps, like the introduction to Linux and the backup function for the system settings made during the first startup. :D

Any chance you have that piedock as a pet? I tried to compile but has some error :P
That's really cool alternative to wbar, it shows on single click on desktop?

I can give it a try. I just took the newest deb package and installed it on K-9, then I added some icons and the default .PieDockrc they delivered with the package.
You can configure on what PieDock can be triggered. Right now it displays on Alt + Scrollwheel down/up in my case, and it works out quite well. However, you shouldn't consider Piedock just as a simple app launcher like wbar, but also on a task switcher like Alt+Tab. And I consider doing some tests if I could add mounting and unmounting to it as well, that would definitely rock the house. :D

Okay, try this dotpet. It's the first one i ever created so I don't know if I got everything right. It's my personalized PieDock, but you can easily modify it as you see fit. ;-)

cool, the PieDock pet works in Newyearspup.
I also was not able to compile it successfully, great job.

Notes:
To be able to activate it with "alt - y" I added this to /root/.PieDockrc:

Code: Select all

trigger key Mod1 y
(my middle mousebutton is broken, now I have a reason to buy a new one ;) )

Looks cool with larger size:

Code: Select all

size 1024
Many thanks for sharing, Mark

Hehe, I see I'm not the only one who tried to get that thing up and running. :D
PieDock is really comfortable if you need to switch between tasks quicky but are too lazy to use Alt-Tab several times. and with the built-in option to permanently add apps to the ring you get the same functionality a tool like Apwal provides for free. ;-)
