Thank you, that did it! Now I have "lmms 0.4.5common" installed.

Hello playdayz,

Lupu-520 has been running perfectly from a live CD for months now.
Yesterday she lost her sound.
Also, sound icon gone from panel.
Cannot initiate alsamixer from menu.
Cannot initiate alsamixer from user/bin.
I did a pfix=ram. negative.
I ran alsawizard twice. negative.
I've rebooted. negative.
The only thing I've been messing with is a Puppy Screensaver in it's various forms.

Here is my machine:
Zareason Big Lap
3 gigs RAM
(see screenshot ZaReasonSummary1)

Here is how I am running lupu-520:
Live CD with pup-save files on machine's hard drive.
Ubuntu 10.04 is resident on the hard drive.

Here is screenshot of *dmesg* immediately after running Alsawizard.
Here is screenshot of Sound Card Selection that Alsawizard sees.
(I choose hda-intel)

Thank you for any suggestions you have.

The reason for the blank post earlier was url bracketing errors, and a bad link to biglap, - I edited and quote

I have successfully downloaded lupu-520 and burned a Live CD (twice) using the download from your initial post.

Lupu-520 ->

Both CD's have muted sound.
Both CD's have Firefox 3.6.13 installed.
How do I fix the muted sound situation?
Looks like the last post was back in 2010.
Has there been a permanent fix created since then?

Here is my machine configuration:
Zareason Big Lap
3 gigs RAM

Thank you in advance of your reply

For some reason the post below did not fully post.
I found the solution to the muted sound.

I found *Retroval* by right clicking on the sound icon in the panel tray.
In *Retroval* I set the speaker volume to a higher volume.

I also ran the alsawizard and set the sound card choice to match my sound card.

sorry it's a bit out of sequence

Thank you, Aitch, for your response to my old post of May 2011.
I'm not sure how it relates to my current post, however.
