Could I get the woof build for dpup after I'm done updating it :)
That way I'll focus on packages and fixes/updates :)

usr/share/docs is 4MB that really needs some trimming :)
also there's some usr/share/man files that could be deleted.

I'm like working in fastforward today, my wife will be home in about 4hrs so I'm trying to get as much done before that, lol

Do you want me to put the entire rootfs on the site, then you can fiddle with it without rebuilding...the one i've got now includes all the changes up to date. Just a thought.

well maybe if we work together on this it would go much faster, I'll just compile away and fix things as I go and post the updates, maybe you could add them to the woof build/scripts and when were finished maybe then have have the rootfs/scripts posted on the site.

Ok I really don't like the feel of medit never have, So I just compiled the latest geany, with plugins, so this package is a bit larger, but has some real nice features that we haven't had before with geany, like spellcheck etc and also I made it default text editor and fixed the default font size, so just install it and aways you go :)

Totally agree, had already dumped medit in favour of geany in my test build.

If you wanted to read aboutthe new plugins in geany here's the webpage on them, http://plugins.geany.org/geany-plugins/
They add a total 396kb extracted so really they are pretty small plugins :)

you have htop and top and installed, top could be omitted from the build due to htop is a 150% replacement for top :)

I was trying to compile gftp and It wouldn't build due to some errors to do with char, so I figured it was because we don't have iconv installed. So I compiled that and still no go, Then I read more and parts of coreutils are missing, so I tried to compile that and that wouldn't build, so I ripped of coreutils from series 4 and that didn't fix it, lol I'm working on it :)
Here's Iconv which is usefully for some apps.

lol thats a quick way to kill a system, lol
but I managed to get it running again, when you copy the files, it kills some of rox commands, like when you copy a file, it deletes and then replaces, but since thats a core file it deletes and replace doesn't work, So I tried to system link the files, and now system is stable, but didn't fix the issue.

also tried 2.0.18 which compiled on 4.2, 2.14X without issue and the same error reports, hmmm does it really matter how big the devx gets? We might be able to use gnulib but that might add 3MB to the devx/os

I repackages your deb version you have posted with the compact version I made up before using the new deb bin :) saves 80KB compressed plus it has the puppylinux @ ibiblio mirror built in for unleashed, I figured all that stuff out for 4.2 :)
