My latest play thing. I hacked together existing script to download wallpaper of the day from the http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/index.html

You get the wallpaper of the day with this script. Install the pet and in console, launch: wallpaper-of-the-day. Enjoy.
The script installs to the /root/my-applications/bin

Use Pschedule to launch this script for example every hour and when the wallpaper changes, you get new one. Not smartest way, but that came my mind with quick brainstorming.
Hi Pemasu,
regarding image of the day - you may have use for these - i hacked together these scripts a while ago for NASA and National geographic image of the day , the scripts will download, make a preview and give the option to apply as desktop wallpaper when using rox-filer for setting backgrounds.

pemasu 5x8 smp crashed on me while watching a movie from hdd. was only downloading another movie and had htop running. console # xwin got me back in. if there is a record somewhere let me know and will send. wonder if using 5x7 savefile made a difference?

did have this one running all night, it was up maybe 17-18 hours.

Jim3630. /tmp/xerrs.log could log bad behavior. It sounds like gnome-mplayer or mplayer crash.

I bought from net shop usb microsope for my youngest kid. It worked oob in Polarpup. Exprimo lacked guvcviewer compiled in dpup, so I compiled the latest version. The shot is from left eye. Focusing was by myself difficult, but I succeeded.
Now we need iris analysist to tell what he sees. :D :D :D
Guvcview-1.5.0 for downloading is under the image.

was using gnome-mplayer believe the crash occurred after double click to bring it to full screen. the log looks like only contain post-crash data but included it if helpful.

the double menu entries of foxfire maybe related to having a second ff in /mnt/home and sym-linked to ~/my-applications? and no relation to the crash?? reinstalled copy of 5x7's savefile but could not get your updater script to again duplicate updating your distro and sym-linked ff's.

---------
phony gz on log to trick system to allow attaching.

looked in dmesg and found this

[70617.127770] gnome-mplayer[16132]: segfault at 0 ip b6eebe8f sp bfba2400 error 4 in libglib-2.0.so.0.2400.2[b6e92000+c8000]

Jim3630. If automatic menu entry installing does not work, the right manouver is:
In console: fixmenus
and then restart wm.

Jim3630. Yep. Your dmesg shows clear indication of gnome-mplayer crashing. Lets see if it misbehaves more. I am willing to compile latest svn if there seems to be systematic problems.

Ok, usually do over night downloading and watch movies part of that time so will keep using 5x8 for the task without rebooting.

I used today aria2 and then watched movie with my youngest son. Gnome-mplayer-mplayer combo worked just fine, even subtitles.

I upgraded to the newest pburn and burnt an Audio CD.
Strangely pburn thought I was using a partition called
/media/300GB rather than /mnt/sda5

Yeah. I tested Scottmans /root/Startup/gtk-mnt-links script. I learned that it do that. I noticed the script has its quirks. But you can disable the script easily as you know.

Note to pemasu:

Have you tried macpup 525
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=68761

What interests me the most is the floating transparent clock
that it has. There is an option to make
it float above the other windows.

Is there any chance that it can be installed in Exprimo?
