2.16.1: How to get CWD-854 USB dongle working?

Still trying to get this wireless dongle working. I looked at dmesg and noticed that there is a line that reads:

usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 3

Now I am using a USB2 device in a USB1.1 port. Reading the forums it suggests I need to blacklist ehci to for the device to run at USB1.1. (I understand it may be slower).

So where and how do I include this blacklist instruction?
