Also uploaded are the revised English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese
briefing notes containing key features and user tips on these language pets.

With the 6 language pets uploaded earlier, there are now a total of 10 language pets
available for download.

Excellent work icake, I would just like to know if you have also made pets for fcitx or scim input method?

Sorry for the late reply.
In each of the 20+ language pets posted so far, SCIM was already included.
Therefore after you applied anyone of these language pets, you will have
a localized Chinese desktop plus the ability to input Chinese using SCIM.
SCIM was chosen because minimal work is needed.
I am currently looking into other Chinese input methods including ibus and fcitx and may add
these in future language pets.

I have done 2 Chinese language pets for Precise 5.4, one for Traditional Chinese and one for Simplified Chinese.
After you applied one of these language pets to the English version of Precise 5.4, you will get:
1. a full Chinese desktop including icons, mouse click pop up menus, sub-menus, mouse move over pop up tooltips
2. utf-8 Traditonal Chinese or Simplified Chinese locale
3. Chinese word file wqy-microhei.ttf
4. SCIM Chinese Input Method with 16 Traditional Chinese Input Methods or 5 Simplified Chinese Input Methods

This thread is from 2010, we're near 2013, how about having a new thread for your language packs? This way it will be easier for Chinese-speaking visitors to find the latest versions on the forum. You can also post downloads links to the latest versions of Puppy Linux, and you can even post in Chinese so that those who can't understand English can read your information.

The package works fine with Lucid 5.2.8 and Slacko 5.3.3, but not with the latest Slacko 5.4.
Lucid 5.2.8 is pretty old, and it does not have driver for the wireless card on my ThinkPad E40 (RTL8192CE).
Slacko 5.3.3 supports my wireless card, but has an ugly UI.
Slacko 5.4 is everything I hope for except it does not work with any Chinese support I tried.
It's not the end of world, I use Puppy to host some small embedded software, so UI is a concern only during development time, so Slacko 5.3.3 would be my choice given its current situation.
Will you consider making this package compatible with Slacko 5.4 soon?
