k3b-1.0.5-13 in a RtG .sfs for 528 AND Slacko RC
In command line it may give an output, that something is absent.darkcity wrote:loaded taglib from the following thread on 5.28
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=43585
still the decoder can not be loaded or found
I think the problem is getting k3b to recognise the decoder plugin is there?
By the way, i don't use "Lucid 528" or "Slacko" so that i don't know what can be the reason of problem in this case.
If my answer will help to get a good result in this case then: there is an example of installation of "K3B-1.0.5" in the "Multimedia" section from me.darkcity wrote:I'm trying to burn mp3s to an audio cd. k3b works apart from this. running from terminal is inconclusive.
What puppy are you running and can you burn mp3s to audio?
The "K3B", which i have prepared for installation, after installation shows the needful plugins in the existing section for plugins, but i did not try to make an audio-CD.
hi Postfs1,
I thought your topic
K3B-1.0.5 in "Quirky Linux 1.40" ! only script to install
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=64182
was for Quirky only. I will try after testing burning WAV file with k3B sfs.
Thanks,

Better than install on Lucid 528 or Slacko, i decided using a Puppy with KDE builtin K3B

Windows for burning his CDs.
Musher0, a Puppy canadian VIP use Windows for burning his CDs.
"Isn'it a Pity ?" would have complained george Harrisson
K3B is a burning tool even used by non linuxian people, as its quality is universally known.

That comment is below the belt, pelo! /Ce commentaire est en bas de la ceinture !
But even bad publicity is publicity!
So I laugh it off!
I installed ImgBurn in my raringPup and it runs under Wine. Period.
Say something like that again, pelo, and I'll ask Merlin to morph you into a CDRW
so I can laser you with data!

But say it in French? "Prevented"? "Indulgent"? I don't understand the words in this
context.
Ah I get it: you would have informed me earlier and if I test k3b I will understand
your post.
Well, I did test k3b 4-5 years ago in an early Puppy. In TeenPup, I think it was.
Yes, k3b is very good, very solid. It can handle any burning situation.
But it makes no sense to use it in a non-KDE Puppy, because you need to install
a lot of the KDE libraries (+/- 100 Mb's) just to use one (1) KDE program.
Forum member "scientist" just had good success with flburn, which is a lot smaller,
and based on the libburnia concept, which also has much smaller libraries.
BFN.

flburn ? ok

Just an information : i am curious and i taste a lot of Pupplets.
IF i should burn a Memorex CDs each time, may bank account would be empty. Use USB pendrives, multiboot, i save a lot of money. and don't waste half a day burning Vincent Van Pup 3992 ISO,
When a puplet is really nice and please me, i burn it with K3b to archive it, save it, if it would disappear from repositories.
Some are very evanescent, fugacious, just make their show and leave as fast as they appeared.
I have some 'collector' CDs, a Slacko 5.3.3 XFCE hardy heron by Jejy69 for instance, even Jejy did not keep it.

Having unknown troubles working with Pburn, wanting to GO HOME, i started looking for an sfs of k3b b/c it JUST WORKS. I saw this post and downloaded this TINY little fburn program at musher0's suggestion. It simply worked perfectly with no qualms and no questions asked. Now i can leave.
But first -- kudos and thank you, musher0!

Perhaps flburn will succeed with damned trade mark Memorex
Flburn : does a pet exist ? i still have 5 CD Memorex to burn. Perhaps flburn will succeed with this damned trade mark Memorex
"If your disc has become bad, there's nothing pburn can do about it... It happens.
One trick I use to detect if an CDRW disc is good, I use cd-info on it beforehand.
cd-info will inform you on DVDRW's as well provided you append the --dvd parm.
In short:
for CDRW's, use the command: cd-info

sfs not usable by XenialDog, flburn dowloaded as Debian
I did any burn CDs since 2013, but for Music, Or remaster Puppy it could be worth of a nervous breakdown burning one or two.
and if my CD-player in the car wouldn't read burn music CD.., ? be optimistic, dear Pelo , you have all your time to allow you a vacancy
I will not test too many things now, as my posts are counted by some members
But burning is worth a full check-up, topics are old, and how-to perhaps should be renewed, at least collected and stuck together.

Re: KDpup484 burns my CD-RW successfully with K3B.
Hi Pelo - do you have a link to a source for KDpup848? Google doesn't help me.Pelo wrote:KDpup848 burns my CD-RW successfully with K3B.

Also - where do you get your K3b files from? - the link at the beginning of this thread seems dead.
