sfs loaded in my graphics suitcase
Mypaint is part of he brand new Vincent van Puppy (2016) released for our artists using Puppy
Based on upup Raring.

In the above: "machin" is French for "thingy".

mypaint is very sensitive to the versions of python and numpy

numpy has to be compiled with multiarray support.

I would guess that the version of numpy you have wasn't the version
that mypaint was compiled with.

don 570, that would meant that Mypaint dowloaded from PPM will not work.
I keep van pup because MyPaint intalls well, i did'nt check deeper, because i'm learning how to use it.
Quickpet in upup Raring does not load MyPaint, but drives you to this topic... strange. Perhaps they didn't succeed in compiling... did they ?

is MyPaint worth the candle ? (Google). Don 570 tested it

Works fine. (I use it regularly in Puli with a Wacom tablet). Tested also in Tahr 6.0.5 under VirtualBox. The necessary Python packages (e.g., numpy) are included.

I am interested a lot in discussing how to use theses graphics tools.So i am glad to meet a user as you.
Mypaint was the main interest of Van pup, the artist Puppy. I did a quick check of it
I have now a hundred of pictures taken during a Carnival for the city Newspaper. I will test Mypaint deeper.

MyPaint is not a Photo editor it's a painter. (tested with Vanpup) . So it's not really my hobby..

Hi All,

Note to self: Do not read pelo's posts first thing in the morning. Pelo has the annoying habit of "not letting sleeping dogs lie", which peeks my curiosity, compels me to try Pups and applications I wouldn't have known about; and screws up my plans for the day.

Installed gjuhasz's MyPaint-1.1.1p in Tahrpup 6.0.5. It opens and appears to be functional. MyPaint appears to be a graphics application well worth mastering as it provides tools I think are otherwise not available. Before working my way through the guides and tutorials, I decided to open MyPaint from the console to see if there were any problems.

Opening via the terminal generated the following information. I didn't have a drawing tablet attached, so would guess that explains

"Looking for GTK devices with pressure:

No pressure sensitive devices found.
device change: Core Pointer <enum GDK_SOURCE_MOUSE of type GdkInputSource>"

But is anything (else) a cause for concern? And, if so, can it be fixed?

seems that precise is the pup with most pets????

kiiram, Precise has a lot of pets, that is true.. Lucid too. The older the Puppy is, greater is the choice. Beware new Puppy Linux, some devs ask users to make pets themselves, ... they are supposed to be able to do it..
If you feel weak on linux language, sure our forum will provide you more pets for Precise version than for Slacko 6.3
For Mypaint, Vanpup has it included and a lot of libs which will make many apps running easily.
