pWidgets 2.5.8
Sylvander,
I've made up a pet from the standard pwidgets weather but with added 'tomorrow' forecast. That's as much as I can add from the weather stream.
As I'm using Stardust can you run and check back whether it works OK.
I think I've changed all the calls to directories correctly but there's a few.

1. "can you run and check back whether it works OK"
What I did:
(a) Rebooted into Twinkle, and used Xfe to backup the folder/file contents of the BoxPup-4.1.3 partition to a folder on sda8.
This so I can restore [to the way it was just prior to the change] if it all goes wrong.
(b) Rebooted back into BoxPup, and used your PET file [downloaded and checked using verifypet] to install Weather-Sylv.
(c) Rebooted back into BoxPup.
Saw no change in the weather widget display.
PPM says the package is installed, but the terminal shows no sign of it being installed.
i.e. In a terminal when I type:
Capital W and hit tab twice, gives NO listing.
Small w and hit tab twice lists lots of programs, but none beginning "weather" [no match].
(d) Searched for "Sylv" and found /root/.packages/Weather-Sylv.files
The 2 folders & 3 files listed in there all exist.
The 3 files all have code in them.

1. "reloaded pet with name as approx. 50% larger"
Restored the partition contents, installed the latest PET, the changes took effect and "Edinburgh" was a good size.
Made me aware that the other text is a bit small and difficult to read; needs to be about 10%-20% bigger.
2. "To change to Celsius run the plugin in menu for weather, tick the box for C"
Did that and all the newest changes were GONE!
i.e. 1-day forecast only, and small text for "Edinburgh".

Yep, been working on two previous apps so no spare time.
I have completed my own weather widget 'Cloud' with all the info I can glean from RSS feed, except latitude and longtitude. No point adding those.
I will look at Weather-Sylv again shortly. I have to load 431 for that to make testing easier for location calls.

OK, Sylvander I've updated the Weather-Sylv.pet on previous page.
It may default to degrees C or not, however testing here in 421 the plugin works and will alter the setting.
I have increased the font size, however if it doesn't suit, it is not difficult for you to alter the High: Low text size. It is the last entry in the Weather config before the TEXT starts. It's set at 12 just now.
Please test and report.

Cloud - A weather pwidget
Cloud or Weather-Station- A weather pwidget based upon all the useful information from the Yahoo Weather RSS feed.
All of todays information is there, along with a summary of to-morrows forecast.
There is a wind heading reading with a small direction arrow derived from a font, pcompass, provided by 01micko.
this will change to reflect wind direction as read from the feed.
In tests on a breezy day with the update frequency as is, it is quite entertaining.
The measurement units will change to reflect metric or imperial as per your choice in setup plugin.
Please test and report, thanks.
This is for 431 derivatives with the directory structure in /usr/local/pwidgets/widgets

Cloud works for me. Impressive informative.
Closest location is 50 km away, but that is how it's like living in the bush.
Is it ok for you, if I rename it to Weather-station or Weather-extreme. I want it to sort side by side with the simple Weather widget. During the latest releases, I have been trying to group different widgets.
Great work!!

I noticed that the script to config the weather-station doesn't work on mine, and I had to edit manually for Nottingham, no big deal though I though I'd let you know. I am running 4.21 k2.6.25.18. Despite that it works great. Bearing in mind that all other widgets that access the net (i.e. weather, weather X, moonphase, rss, etc.) all do not work because I am at university and my service is through a proxy. I have been searching on how to fix this so I can actually use the widgets (which I love) all of you are posting. Good work on Cloud and Weather-station!!! I don't know what you did, but its the only one to work for me.
Plus since its a 'weather station" it gives me all the info I like to have thats previously was scattered thoughout varying widgets., (except for the moonphase), but I'll count my blessings. Good Work!
I was wondering on a side note,if there was anyway to make a widget that tells you when a post of your from the forum is replied to or when you have a new PM? I don't know the logistics behind something like that, just wondering if it was a possibility.

I am not a Mac, not a PC... I am a Puppy.
Hi Zigbert,
I just downloaded pwidgets-2.2.2.pet and installed in Puppy431. Sadly it broke my wallpaper and gave these error messages:
Also it did not register with PPM to allow removal.
Upon examining the .pet I noticed these things:
There is no /root in the pet.
pet.specs contains
I suspect something is amiss.
Sorry to bear bad news, J
