under your Requirements you have ffmpeg listed?? Ok what I take from pmusic is that its a lite weight audio player, so why is ffmpeg a dependant, there are other low resource deps built into puppy that you could use. If people want a low resource audio player and have to use gtkdialog plus ffmpeg whats the use to Pmusic? might as well use gxine, or save a lot of reources and use alsaplayer etc. I don't know I just think there are better less resources ways of playing music if your going to use those 2 major deps.

one more quirk: if i open sgmixer from tools-menu the master-volume goes to 100% automatically even it was 0 before.

I think I know what causes the 'appearance'-error, and I hope I have fixed it (but I can't reproduce it, so no testing). I guess you are not running a plain Puppy 4??? Are you running an updated gtk2 lib?

I think we must blame sgmixer for not activating correct volume. Alsamixer works, and I think it is a good reference. While checking this I see that Puppy 4.3 has switched from sgmixer to zmixer. I will remove sgmixer (because it doesn't play well), and include zmixer.

Thanks for feedback! I thought I was the only user of Pmusic these days...

yes it's a modded 4.10 but with default gtk2 (i'm a little coward with changing such things...)

Thanks for the new version and the directions on how to make pmusic default. The only issue I seem to have is using lyrics. It sends the track number and track title and receives nothing.

You point out a bug here.... When adding a song with metatags, the tags are not shown in the playlist.

Opening the lyrics window the song is shown in the search-field just like it is shown in the playlist. Note!!! You can still edit the content of the search-field to match the search term 'Artist - Song'.

Alex
I'm testing now a lot of songs, and never get this message.

Here is the command that connects to alyrics.com. Please run in terminal, and share the output.

Code: Select all

wget --tries=1 -O /tmp/lyrics http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/madonna/music.html
