Thanks for the response. I checked the wireless thread you suggested and found a prior version of the Airlink USB adapter listed as compatible. In the reviews at meritline I found a couple of users noting that it works with Puppy and Ubuntu. I went ahead and ordered it despite no guarantees that it will work with Fluppy. I've got a plan B and plan C use for this adapter in case plan A doesn't pan out. Thanks again!

Cool, I'll update the b43 firmware today and hopefully release Fluppy005 later today or tommorrow. I'll but the b43 driver back and blacklist WL. If you need the WL driver, you'll need to unblacklist it.

Fluppy005 syncs with Puppeee 4.4Beta 1, for which the changelog is here: http://puppeee.com/web/blog/puppeee-44-beta1-posted/

Also I updated to the new Chrome 6 that was just released.

I've put the b43 driver back (and updated the firmware), but wl is still there. You'll just need to adjust the settings in the bootmanager to get it to load.

Hi all

Downloaded and done a clean frugal install on my dual core machine, all video players are playing mp4, flv & 3gp videos (flv files still have the binary icon and not the playable video one) full screen switch on the gui does not seem to be working on FFplay (but will expand to full sgreen using the window controls.

Very good quality audio playing as well but gxine does seems like it does not want to play ogg files but xfmedia does (no problem with mp3's on both)

Installed and am using the pupeee firefox.sfs no problem but had to change the version number as well on the devx file to get it to load (changed to "flp_devx_005.sfs"

Keybord changed to right version with the initial set up

Looking very good, will now drop down to my 800mhz box and try that

Jemimah Is this posted in the right place or would you prefer it else where?

Cheers

This is the right place.

I'll check out the ogg thing. Gxine, Xfmedia, and Goggles all use libXine for playback, so discrepancies are confusing to me.

I neglected to edit the first post yesterday. You should use the 4.4beta1 devx with fluppy005.

Oh good. I guess the firmware update did the trick.

Is there anyone else with the broadcom card having issues with the b43 driver? If not, I"ll pull WL from fluppy006.

Thanks Jemimah,

Fluppy 005 works just fine on the Acer AO751h with the notorious Broadcom wireless and Intel graphics hardware.

With great excitement I created a frugal install of Fluppy 5.0 for my Lenovo. I am still getting an error message at bootup that reads 'Unable to detect wireless card, reboot and enable in BIOS.' It is enabled. This is the same message I got in Fluppy 3 & Fluppy 4. The only Puppy that wireless has worked on this machine is a special 4.31 for BCM 4312. I tried giving BCM43XX preference over SSB and also blacklisting SSB to no avail. WL was blacklisted as a default. As is probably obvious, I don't know what I am doing. Any suggestions?

GaRailRoader, did you unblacklist wl? Then add wl to the Add List.

If the b43 module is loading, add b43:wl to the preflist instead.

I'm missing a couple of tray icons ,a network connection and cpu usage.
Can these be installed and if so how would one go about it?

Hi all

I think with the .ogg files that there was not a default action/program set, as soon as I set a default Gxine would play them no problem.

Tried the "Big Buck Bunny" ogg sample; (20mb download).
It plays fine, but can't find a way to get out of Gxine fullscreen
mode once selected.

IceWM does support a CPU applet and a network applet. On the Desktop menu, pick IceWM configuration. You can run the wizard the turn on the CPU applet (in the Taskbar section). But you must edit the config file by hand to enable the network applet. Change 'TaskBarShowNetStatus=0' to 'TaskBarShowNetStatus=1' and uncomment 'NetworkStatusDevice="ppp0 eth0"' and modify the interfaces for the interfaces you have on your PC.

After that, restart X and you should see the applets.

I use the Esc key, does that not work for you?
