What I'm after is an Application that Boots pure iso images ( ie. Not eXtracted as PuppyLuvrs MultiPup does ), it's been Suggested that this Needs 2 Occur in a Virtualized eNvironment like QEMU or BARTS PE Builder etc, Good thing about this particular App MultiSystem is that there is a YouTube Tutorial 4 this as there aRe 4 Sum others ( Mostly Wind0'$ ), You'll Notice that this is supposed 2 work 4 Ubuntu, I Require Sumthing idiot Proof, Thanx

I am going ahead and releasing the MP528v2-Black-5.pet on my macpup page in the macpup528 folder. This is the new default theme for the updated .ISO that is coming soon. So if you want the look now have at it.

Thanks to Agust again !!!

I will be posting the updates that are going into the new .ISO as .pet's if you want them without downloading the new .ISO. These updates are OPTIONAL so you if you are happy with mp528 as it is you don't need them.

More later...

Great theme. I do like. I hope if you dont mind that I use it in Dpup Exprimo. As personal theme, not going to preinstall it to the build but this theme surely is my favourite. Thank you of hard work with it and thanks to Agust of providing great e17 themes to tune for Puppies using e17.
This theme works flawlessly with the enlightenment of Dpup Exprimo.

I do appreciate your work. Thanks !!!

I hope anyone who tries it has better luck than I have with this type of thing, ... JB
I am a sucker for cover CDs/DVDs whatever so also purchased a copy of APC.

Burned the iso to CD but when I reboot I get:

grub>

Reading the messages off the CD seem to indicate that boot up should be like my previous CDs ... Have I burned a coaster?

If not instructions please.

When you boot the live cd , you should get this boot screen....

All macpup .iso have a version of it. Very rarely the stage 2 grub boot loader we use wont like someone's hardware and it will give a promp like what you are saying. Since that APC mag is on the other side of the planet from me I can't say anything about it. There is no way for me to check it out. You could do a md5sum on their version of the .iso and see if it matches the one on our web site. The only work around for this is to use a different puppy to make a usb install with your burn of the .iso .

You can get the md5sum here :

http://macpup.org/

Instruction for setting up a usb are in this thread :

http://hardkap.net/forums/topic/using-macpup

You may want to wait we are about to release an updated version of macpup528.

When I boot from the CD I get (something like):

Loading from atapi cdrom
No emulation
Loading stage 2 ...

Then I get the grub> prompt.

If it is indeed a hardware problem then there would appear to no future for macpup on my machine ...

I have seen a few machines that won't start a Live CD that uses GRUB as the bootloader. I suspect that it's a BIOS issue. (Most CD's use isolinux as the bootloader.)

However, you could always use another Puppy to extract the core files from the Macpup ISO and do a manual frugal install.

The CD I burned has the 11 files that is shown in

http://hardkap.net/forums/topic/forum-issues

isolinux.bin is one of those files!

I have a frugal install of 3.01 on hda4 so I thought, rename any of those files that may conflict and copy the files from the CD across.

Not so easy. I get input/output errors when trying to copy macpup_528.sfs and vmlinuz. Hmm!

An update to my previous post.

I checked the md5sum of the iso and it was correct. Burned another CD and it verified as OK.

I am using macpup to post this.

That looks to me like grub failing to find the kernel
Try checking the kernel line in menu.lst, or see if the files are in a sub-directory...?

Aitch :)

Puppy 3.01 uses older .sfs version . Can't handle newer .sfs's . isolinux.bin is included in the .ISO so the remaster script will work. I decided not to customize that.
