Manual frugal update from +26 to +27 has been running just fine the past 3 days. Seriously, peebee, I'd submit more interesting reports if you'd just leave in more bugs...

on this upupbb 18.05 Running on an HP Pavilion DV6 Laptop, being an AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile 2.3 GHz Max Speed, 4 GB RAMemory, w/ ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series Graphics. Dual Booting w/ M$ Virus Magnet 7 Pro
chromium.sfs, Loaded But Not in the Menu. When Call chromium from LXTerminal I get...
/usr/lib/chromium/chromium: /lib/libm.so.6: version 'GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by /usr/lib/chromium/libgtk-3.so.0)
# EXIT="Exit on timeout"
& then a small yellow window pops up w/ the Message, REMINDER: Any downloads will have SPOT ownership but any items in /root/spot/Downloads have been changed to ROOT ownership.
Also chromium_72.0.3626.81+pepper_32.0.0.142_lx_spot.sfs, I'm Not sure which 1 to Use ( ie. Load )???
Also vivaldi-stable_2.3.1440.48-1_i386.deb, which installs into the Menu, But won't actually launch!
When I Check its' Missing Dependencies w/ the Puppy Package Manager, it returns python:any python:any python:any
& Yet I Can See Plenty of Python Packages in the PPM!
Same Outcome also w/ Compiz which doesn't load... Missing Dependencies, python:any python:any python:any
Again, Wot's the Cure??? Please???
Also Perhaps Even More aLarming is the Wireless Continually Dropping Out & then ReConnecting!?! it's a RealtekRTL8188CU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter. I tried using the rtl8812au_rtl8821au-4.3.20_k4.9.96.pet optional wifi driver, But alas No joy, No improvement, just the same Dropping Out & ReConnecting!?! This is w/ Frisbee, because Neither of Barrys SNS Tool Nor the Network Wizard works. Nb. this Behaviour doesn't occur w/ M$ Virus Magnet Windows!
Of course I've already spent Faa Too Long Researching & Trying 2 Fix these issues & My 9 year old Daughter is getting Real Tired of Slow Windows & Loves Compiz!
Please Help!

Thanks for the reports - showed a compatibility problem with the latest versions of GTK+3 as present in the .sfs
New versions of all browsers with fix have been uploaded.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxpup/ ... /browsers/
With an sfs you probably need to do a desktop restart to fix the menu.

Link added above.
Compiz is a dead project I believe - but if it requires Python you need to load the devx sfs...
wifi - suggest you post details of your problem in a thread where other RealtekRTL8188CU users might be able to help e.g. does it work correctly in any other pups?

Thanx again PB, 4 your Help & Support, Both Browsers aRe Working Well,
& the WiFi has Stablized since I Updated to +27 ( from +12 previously ) also just in case I also Loaded the Latest Linux Firmware sfs Package, altho I haven't been able 2 figure out how 2 put the eXtracted modules into the /lib/firmware location... but I'm not too concerned about that @ the mo' since it is Stable.
However, Now I can't find Where 2 Switch 2 the LXDE from JWM, it used 2 be quite Easy / intuitive?
& your comment about suggesting that Compiz is dead Surprized me, so I did an iNet Search & unless I've misunderstood it looks like there's a New Update 2Day!

There is no LXDE in UpupBB...........you are thinking about LxPupBionic......

Where did you get gcin from? Sounds like you have the wrong version for UPupBB............
https://ubuntu.pkgs.org/18.04/ubuntu-un ... 6.deb.html ??

Is rtl8812au_rtl8821au in kernel?

Hello all
Have drivers for the rtl8812au_8821au chipset been merged in any kernel yet?
I have a TP-Link T4UH Wi-Fi adapter which uses that chipset.
Any help in getting connected with it would be greatly appreciated.
This may not be the appropriate section, but I place it here as I plan on switching to upupbb. iso and devx have been downloaded and I am ready for some hand-holding to compile, if necessary.
TIA

Not a kernel, just a rtl8812au_rtl8821au-4.3.20_k4.9.96.pet available in peebee's driver directory at sourceforge for kernel 4.9.96 stuff listed in this post

@perdido
Thanks for the link.
Thought I'd be able to ditch ndiswrapper, but alas ...sticks to me like glue.

Must be using a different kernel than 4.9.96?
Here are the sources I used for the 4.9.96 pet
https://github.com/Grawp/rtl8812au_rtl8821au
I didn't keep my notes

Load devx and kernel headers
Open a terminal in the sources directory and run make
It just built in upupBB like that right now, maybe no notes needed.
Have fun
